X-Plus has announced the DefoReal Mechagodzilla 1975 figure. This figure revealed a while back stands 15cm tall, the Ric version features color changing light up eyes like the 30cm Space Beam version that is releasing soon, this figures retails for 8,800 yen for the Ric and 7,700 yen for the standard. It can be pre-ordered now from X-Plus (Ric) and other retailers (standard), with release scheduled for June 2021.

X-Plus has announced the Godzilla 2002 figure, a figure that was teased some time back. This figure stands 27cm tall and is 17cm deep, the Ric version features light up fins, it will retail for 18,590 yen for the Ric and 17,050 yen for the standard. They can be pre-ordered now with release scheduled for May 2021.
X-Plus has announced the Dr. Serizawa DefoReal figure in both monochrome and natural color as well as Godzilla 1962 Luminous Version. The Dr. Serizawa was recently shown at Super Festival 84 stands 13cm tall, the monochrome is the standard with the natural color being the Ric version, both retail for 8,800 yen, both are available for pre-ordered with release scheduled for May 2021. Godzilla 1962 Luminous Version is the same figure from 2018 but with a light up gimmick, it stands 12cm tall and retails for 8,250 yen, it can be pre-ordered now from X-Plus (Ric only) with release scheduled for May 2021.
X-Plus was at Super Festival 84 and had a bunch of new reveals which were separated into three genres Godzilla/Toho figures, Ray Harryhausen 100 figures, and Ultraman figures.
The big reveal with the Godzilla/Toho (pun intended) was a prototype of the Gigantic Series Favorite Sculptor Line Godzilla 1954 based on a Inoue Arts kit it should be approx 50cm tall and is listed to be released June 2021. Also revealed was a DefoReal Biollante which looks very detailed no release date was given for it. Two other figures were shown in a finish state, both being DefoReals, Mechagodzilla 1975 and Dr. Serizawa in diving suit, Mechagodzilla is scheduled for a June 2021 release no info on the Ric version, Dr. Serizawa will come in two colors monochrome, and natural color versions it's unclear which might be the Ric version they are scheduled for a May 2021 release. Also shown was a new Godzilla 2019 this version looks to be the same sculpt as the previous version but it feature a smoke effect that gives the appearance of his atomic breath, it also has light up fins as well no release date was announced. A place holder display also shown had a Large Monster Series Mothra 1992 no other info was given on it. The second group of figures were based on Ray Harryhausen creatures, some were ones we have previously seen, the One Million Years B.C. Allosaurus, Triceratops, and Ceratosaurus, the first two have updated release dates Nov 2020, April 2021 respectively, no release date for the third. Also on display was the Cyclops and Ymir, the DefoReal Cyclops that were revealed previously. New reveals include a finished Rhedosaurus from The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and a prototype DefoReal version, prototypes of Gwangi, the Kraken, Talos with ship, and Kali per the placeholder image. The ultraman figures included DefoReal Ultraman Zero (recently solicited), Varricane, and Hoe both scheduled for 2021 releases, as well as prototypes of Jumborg Ace, Sevenger (Ultraman Leo version), Birdon Version 2, and Robonezu, some of which have scheduled release dates. There was also a few more on a placeholder image like the others. Lastly there was the Vampirella kit, it was shown unassembled, as well as assembled and painted, no release date was given. All pictures from X-Plus. The Godzilla Store has announced a bunch of new and old merchandise in celebration of Godzilla Festival 2020, Godzilla's 66th Anniversary. There was highly anticipated releases like X-Plus Gigantic Shin Godzilla Awakening Version Purple Edition, a Movie Monster Series Mechagodzilla (Heavy Armed Type) Heavy Paint Specification, Godzilla Awaji Island Landing Version Diorama, as well as some surprise like the Godzilla Slip Mat Set, Gojiham-kun (Godzilla Hamtaro crossover) merchandise, 2021 calendar, and many re-released items. The Gigantic Shin Godzilla appears to be the same as the previously released version but with a more purple paint scheme (clear purple vinyl painted, the original had red in it's coloring, same size), it will retail for 77,000 yen (currently shown as sold out), with release Nov 20, 2020. The Movie Monster MechaGodzilla also is a re-release with updated paint scheme, retailing for 3,300 yen. Godzilla Awaji Island Landing Version Diorama is a scale diorama of the zipline Shin near the Godzilla museum, it's 25cm long, 10.5cm tall, and 12cm deep, it retails for 3,850 yen and will release mid Dec 2020. The Godzilla slip mat set are collectible record player mats, one feature Godzilla 1954 image the other a "walking" Godzilla pattern (it gives the appearance of Godzilla walking when spinning), it retails for 3,960 yen and will be released April 2021. The Gojiham-kun merchandise features a design by Matt Frank (Gamera Box Set artist among other things) on a number of items including key chain, towel, t-shirt, tote , and more. The calendar is a desktop version with many images from Godzilla's film library, it retails for 1,650 yen and will be released Dec 2020. There is also a number of t-shirts (some previously released, as well as other re-released items. X-Plus has announced the Toho 30cm Series Megalon figure, which fans have eagerly been waiting for. This figure stands 32cm tall, and will retail for 22,000 yen (20,000 on the US site, the standard will retail for 20,350 yen), and the Ric is a mini flying Jet Jaguar (10cm in length). It is scheduled for a Jan 2021 release, it can be pre-ordered from X-Plus starting Oct 1st.
X-Plus announced the 30cm Series Favorite Sculptors Line Rodan 1956 during their Summer Kaiju Festival now we have the actual figure reveal and info. This figure stands 36cm tall and has a wingspan of 50cm, it is based on an Asai kit, it comes with a logo base (standard version will have a different base), and retails for 28,600 yen (26,000 yen on the US site, 27,500 yen for the standard). It can be pre-ordered now from X-Plus with release scheduled for Jan 2021.
Update: standard version images added below (note this is from Diamond and it states "branded base" in their listing so the base maybe slightly different). X-Plus has announced the DefoReal Godzilla 1984 Luminous Version and DefoReal Varan, both were revealed as part of the Summer Kaiju Festival. Godzilla is the same sculpt as the previous version but this one features a light up gimmick for the fins and reactor, stands 13cm tall, and retails for 8,250 yen (7,500 yen on the US site). Varan comes with the mountain god statue, it stands 14cm tall and is 17cm in length with the statue standing 5cm tall, and it retails for 9,350 yen (8,500 yen on the US site). Both can be pre-ordered now with release scheduled for Feb 2021.
X-Plus is releasing the Toho 30cm Series Mechagodzilla 1975 Space Beam Version, a new version of the figure released in 2016. This Ric exclusive feature a light up effect for the eyes and chest, the eyes change in a rainbow color pattern to simulate Mechagodzilla's Space Beam (video below), the figure is otherwise the same as the previous version standing 30cm tall (no brain head though). It will retail for 24,200 yen and can be pre-ordered from X-Plus, Bandai Premium, and the Godzilla Store, with release scheduled for Dec 2020. |
