Synopsis for "His Whole Life Was a Million-to-One Shot"
As the alien monsters SpaceGodzilla, Gigan, Hedorah and Monster X destroy the world's cities, humanity's militaries failed to do anything to stop the creatures. Mothra tried to defeat Monster X in Manhattan, but was taken down. At the same time, the still-at-large Rodan appeared in Hong Kong and began fighting against Gigan, with Godzilla being nowhere to be found for days. To try to even the odds, Harrison went to Inland Empire, California to take control of the Daniel Malmon Group's Mechagodzilla, though Harrison has to go through Malmon's security before he can get to the mech. Meanwhile on Monster Island, Boxer and Hikari have found the building where the two men in charge of the island are overseeing it and are trying to find a way to disable the field that is keeping the monsters on the island.

Back in the hangar storing Mechagodzilla, Harrison managed to hotwire the robot. He saw that while its weapons did not work, it could at least walk.
Picture
When he and Mechagodzilla left the hangar, he was immediately faced with Hedorah. After dodging one of Hedorah's attacks, Harrison 'regained' his ability to speak, through Mechagodzilla. He then taunts Hedorah and prepares to fight it, however Hedorah's sludge smacks Mechagodzilla directly. As Mechagodzilla's defenses started to fail, Godzilla suddenly appeared and started to fight Hedorah. Back on Monster Island, Hikari managed to find a way to distract the men in charge, Fletcher and Everett, using love pheromones. Boxer took the opportunity to destroy one of the generators that were keeping the field on and caused it to dissipate, allowing Anguirus, Battra and Titanosaurus to walk free. Boxer met Hikari at the building when Kumonga walked onto the building top with them. Boxer wondered how they were going to be able to transport it back to the mainland, Hikari instead asking how they were going to stop it from killing them. Just then however, Harrison arrived with Mechagodzilla. Boxer and Hikari got inside the mech, put Kumonga on its back and started flying back.

Earth's monsters went to fight their extraterrestrial enemies. Anguirus met with Rodan in Hong Kong to fight Gigan, Battra and Titanosaurus arrived in London to battle SpaceGodzilla and Godzilla was fending off Hedorah.

Synopsis for "The Night the Giant Monsters Came Home!"
Boxer, Harrison and Hikari are in the ruins of Vancouver trying to convince an old man to drive them to the energy box that contains Godzilla. Boxer explains to the man that the world's fate depends on them setting Godzilla free to fight the alien monsters ravaging the Earth's cities. After much deliberation, the old man, named Mr. Nussbaum, drives them toward Godzilla. Meanwhile Dr. Pohl is excited that Godzilla has been successfully captured. It appears that one of the modulated energy panels in the containment field begins losing power, and eventually the whole box dissipates: Godzilla is now free. Godzilla retreats to the sea with Boxer following close behind, shouting at it to 'face [him] like a man,' to no response from Godzilla. Boxer returns back to Hikari who tells him that Harrison had left to do something, and then tells Boxer there was something else they needed to attend to. Hikari explained that there was a monster arms race in the making, with world powers trying to find a way to control monsters and use them as weapons to achieve global domination. Boxer asked Hikari if she knew the location of the island where all the monsters he captured were being held. She did not know but led Boxer to Dr. Pohl, who she thought might know.

  • Cable news channels CNN and Fox News are mentioned in this issue—the first direct reference to them in any official Godzilla media. (Marc Cerasini's 1998 novel Godzilla at World's End previously referenced the "Fair & Balanced" slogan of the latter, but in the context of a fictional network's reporting.)

Synopsis for "Somewhere, Somehow, Something is Going to Pay"
Boxer, Harrison and Claire were trying to run away from Godzilla down in the smoke-filled ground in Vancouver after their plan failed. There was very little visibility, but after a bit saw Godzilla heading toward them and decided to split up. Boxer witnessed the helicopter that had caused Urv to needlessly die apparently leading Godzilla toward a specific location. Godzilla was fast approaching, so Boxer chose to stay close to Harrison as Godzilla stomped around. Asuka Hikari, seeing that there was a clear attempt at killing the people at the ground with Godzilla, decided what was going on was wrong and tried to stop Godzilla from being taken to the "staging area." However Dr. Pohl explained it was too late to stop. After the cloud of smoke cleared up, Boxer asked Harrison if he was okay, but he could not speak after so many years of not speaking. Boxer then looked for Claire but could not find her. Meanwhile Godzilla was lured to a location where he was trapped inside of a modulated energy panels Dr. Pohl asked for Godzilla to be prepared for transportation.
Picture
Hours later, Boxer took Harrison to the remains of a hospital to try to revitalize his son with fluids. Just then, Asuka appeared, apologized and explained everything that was going on to Boxer. Godzilla had been captured inside a box of modulated panels of energy, made of experimental black hole energy, and that he did not have to hunt monsters any longer. However, just them, some purple lightning-like energy appeared at the roof of the ruined hospital. At the United Nations headquarters, reporters were interrogating the Shobijin about the four monsters that had just invaded the Earth: Gigan in Hong Kong, SpaceGodzilla in London, Hedorah in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and Monster X in New York City, where Mothra had also appeared to fight it.

Back in Vancouver, Boxer said that Claire had been right about "being on the wrong team" and realized that the monsters had appeared to protect the Earth from the alien monsters as Mothra was doing in New York. Boxer said they needed to break Godzilla out of the energy box for the sake of the planet.

Synopsis for "The Government Gave Them A Choice... Now There's No Turning Back"
With the "monster love pheromones" being complete, Dr. Pohl and Asuka Hikari get on a helicopter and head toward the United States to test it out against Godzilla. As they left, it became clear that the monsters on the island were becoming impatient and were starting to not pay much attention to the Headache Beam anymore, though it was not clear what was making them act like this.

One month ago, Godzilla had finished destroying Seattle and retreated into the ocean. Hours later, the Monster Kill Crew arrived in North Vancouver, Boxer claiming that Godzilla would arrive here at any time. They commenced their plan to collect as many explosives as possible for their plan and managed to gather enough in just 2 days. They spent the next month in hiding until Godzilla appeared and then went into position. Urv went up to the mountain, Claire and Harrison drove near Godzilla on a truck with a Headache beam mounted on it, and Boxer went up to the top of a building to be able to see Godzilla.
Picture
The headache beam proved useless against Godzilla, as expected, so Boxer started sending text messages to bombs Urv had buried underground across the city to make them ignite, nudging Godzilla in the direction of Mt. Garibaldi, a potentially active volcano which Urv could have kickstarted, the lava potentially finally doing some serious damage to Godzilla. To prevent civilian casualties, Claire forced a politician to evacuate the city. Not long after, the helicopter carrying the monster love potion arrived. The delivery capsule was dropped on Godzilla, making him immediately turn around, ruining Boxer's plan. Boxer told Urv to stop the explosion as all it would do now is pointlessly destroy Vancouver. Urv replied that the only way to stop it now was manually, and so he went into the mountain and cut as many lines as he could. Urv managed to reduce the magnitude of the explosion substantially, however he did not stop it completely and so died inside the mountain, where he finally found peace by reuniting with the spirit of his groom.

Boxer, Harrison and Claire were in tears as a result of Urv's death, and swore to find the helicopter that de facto had killed him.

Original Solicitation

"It's the day Boxer has been waiting for... the opportunity to avenge his daughter in a showdown with Godzilla. At the exact worst moment though, the government and their secret weapon step in to take matters into their own hands. You know what they say about "best laid plans...""

Synopsis for "They Had Nothing Left to Lose but Each Other"
After playing around with Godzilla's DNA sample, Asuka Hikari found away to possibly lure monsters to wherever they're led to by abusing their chemical attraction to members of their own species. Asuka excitedly proclaimed this could be used to lure the monsters to uninhabited locations to study them and that the Monster Kill Crew could be told to stop their activities as a result. Dr. Pohl was pleased with this, and informed Asuka that they could begin carrying out tests as the Monster Kill Crew had been arrested.

Boxer's crew was being held at an undisclosed location by a private security team paid by Mrs. Murakami, mother of the girl that died under Boxer's watch in Washington. However, not long after being placed in there, they managed to escape. They found out that Mothra was going located in between them and Godzilla, and that Mothra had two small fairies, the Shobijin, who were going to speak for her at the United Nations soon. Boxer decided it was needed to have Harrison and Urv borrow some planes as Claire and Boxer drove toward Mothra.
Picture
Meanwhile at the U.N., the Shobijin explained that things right now were nowhere near as bad as they were going to get. Boxer and Claire continued to drive and encountered Mothra, who was trying to keep them from approaching with purple lightning-like bolts. One of the bolts hit Claire and she fell out of the van and received an eerie vision of the future with three monsters. At the same time, Urv and Harrison made it into the United Nations conference with the fairies and told them to make Mothra leave California. The Shobijin do so but not before saying a handful of cryptic phrases. Claire claims that she is now starting to understand the situation. Godzilla makes landfall in Seattle after a run-in with Mothra earlier, destroying the Space Needle. That's when Claire realizes that they might be doing something wrong.

In the middle of the night, Ms. Asuka Hikari wakes up to the sight of intruders. She evades them but while escaping is caught by Dr. Pohl, who takes her with him. Forty-three days after Godzilla attacked Washington, D.C., a man known as Daniel Malmon was about to unveil his 'solution' to the Godzilla problem. Meanwhile, the Monster Kill Crew had followed Godzilla up to San Fernando Valley but their Headache Beam failed to do anything to Godzilla. After Boxer saves Harrison from being crushed by Godzilla's tail, the Damion Malmon Group's Mechagodzilla appears in the valley and starts to fight Godzilla. Boxer is irked by this, and so tells his crew to leave and that he personally would go talk to Malmon, though he never has the chance to. Mechagodzilla lands some blows on Godzilla, however Godzilla withstands all of its attacks and manages to cause major damages to Mechagodzilla using his atomic breath, causing its core systems to fail and defeating it. Godzilla walks on, with the Monster Kill Crew coming back together and starting to device a new plan to take down Godzilla using some biological samples. However, just then, Boxer's crew is arrested. Meanwhile on Monster Island, Asuka Hikari prepared something she says can make "a giant monster fall in love."

Synopsis for "You Don't Assign Him a Giant Monster, You Just Turn Him Loose"
Originally showing up to Tokyo to take down Titanosaurus, the Monster Kill Crew is surprised to also find Rodan there as well. Boxer uses the Headache Beam against Rodan, but Rodan responds by creating a powerful gust with his winds which hurl the Monster Kill Crew's helicopter into a building. Boxer, seeing the situation unfold, thinks of a plan to bring down both Titanosaurus and Rodan by making them fight each other and exhaust one another before knocking them out. Titanosaurus seems unaffected by the headache beam, however Rodan is successfully made to bump into Titanosaurus and the two start to fight. Soon, Urv finished a massive load of powerful explosions and after tying them to parachutes, dropped them onto the monsters. The resulting explosions managed to incapacitate Titanosaurus, however Rodan escaped once again. Walking out of the building they had crashed in, Claire questions where it was that the governments of the world placed the monsters that they took down.

Later, Titanosaurus was being transported to the Hunt Atoll in the South Pacific Ocean, otherwise known as Monster Island. There, two men were discussing that they had appropriated a Headache Beam and modified it to make the monsters on the island tame and that nations were looking to make back money they had to give to Boxer, and that weaponized monsters would be priceless.

Meanwhile in San Diego, California, Godzilla was wreaking havoc. Ms. Murakami, mother of the girl that died under Boxer's care not long ago, was aware that the Monster Kill Crew would be arriving soon and was looking to meet Boxer to get an explanation out of him regarding her daughter's death. Boxer and the others arrived. Claire explained that it was very unlikely that the Headache Beam would work against Godzilla as it didn't work on Titanosaurus. Boxer then said that he didn't care about the money he received and that its purpose was to buy more explosives and materials to fight and kill Godzilla, and that they wouldn't stop until Godzilla was dead.

Original Solicitation
"Unable to take down Titanosaurus on their own, Boxer and the Monster Kill Crew decide to fight monster with monster! After luring Rodan to the battlefield, the Crew is hoping for a two-for-one score. But in a world of kaiju, things seldom go as planned! Plus, the Crew starts to ask the big question: Why are the monsters reappearing now? They might not like the answer!"

Trivia
  • After Titanosaurus is defeated by the Monster Kill Crew, the following typo can be seen: "At least we'd immobilized the dinosaur—the monster Toyko had hired us to deal with."

Synopsis for "This Time It's Personal"
In Edinburgh, Scotland, after having their van destroyed by Anguirus and the Headache Beam snapped in half, Boxer's crew managed to escape being crushed by Anguirus by speeding away on a hot-wired car. Claire managed to fix the Headache Beam and Boxer used it against Anguirus, nudging the monster toward Edinburgh Castle where Urv had set up a massive amount of explosives. They detonated and Anguirus fell into a gigantic crater. Boxer proclaimed, "Lady and gentlemen... we are in business!"
With the media attention headed their way for their defeat of Anguirus, the newly-dubbed Monster Kill Crew made it clear they would be taking down monsters for 7 billion pounds each. With that, they next traveled around the world defeating monsters. Kumonga was quickly disposed of in New Mexico, however Rodan managed to elude capture by the Monster Kill Crew in Brazil. Deciding they'd deal with Rodan later, they traveled to South Korea to get rid of Battra, who was trapped in a half-billion dollar electrified net. Boxer then decided it was time to go after Godzilla. Godzilla was attacking St. Louis at that time, but it turned out there was something else attacking nearby Tokyo, so it was decided they would go there. While crossing into Tokyo, they found out the monster in Tokyo was an amphibious dinosaur. However, it turned out that was not the only monster there, as they witnessed Rodanfly right in front of them.

Boxer has assembled his task force in which he plans to fight back against the kaiju attacking the world. His force is made up of Urv, who had his wedding destroyed by Kumonga, Harrison, a mute racer who witnessed Rodan's attack in Brazil during the last issue, and Claire Plangman, Boxer's ex, who is also a military scientist. Armed with stolen military supplies (including an experimental weapon called the Headache Beam) the team heads to Edinburgh, Scotland to deal with Anguirus. But the hunter becomes the hunted when Anguirus proves to be more of a challenge then they expected.

Synopsis for "Forty Stories of Sheer Terror"
In Mexico, Kumonga attacks the wedding of Irving "Urv" Jassim. Many of the guests, including his groom, are killed, and Urv tries to avenge them by blowing up a can of gas against Kumonga. His efforts don't faze Kumonga however, and it makes its way deeper into the city. Elsewhere in the world, Rodan attacks the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Brazil and Battra attacks the Yongsan Garrison in Seoul, South Korea. Lastly, Godzilla arrives in Washington D.C., which has been recently rebuilt from the events during Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters. As Godzilla attacks the city, Boxer, who is an ex-British Special Forces officer, tried to keep the daughter of a rich Japanese official that is under his protection alive during the chaos. After Godzilla leaves Washington, Boxer calls Urv, asking him, "Whatcha doin' this weekend?"

He assembles a top notch team to take down monster-sized threats... at $7 billion a bounty. What starts as a vendetta could become a lucrative business for Boxer... if he can live past day one!"
