Synopsis for "From A Great Height"
Famous thrillseeker Bryson Allworth was being interviewed about his life when he began to recount the tale of his encounter with Godzilla. After ten years without a newsworthy adventure, the government contacted Allworth to get him to climb up Godzilla to obtain some tissue samples. He agreed, and was given a radiation suit to undergo the task. Bryson mounted Godzilla by jumping onto his tail from a jeep in rural Mongolia. Seven hours in to his climb, he had discovered a "weird new species of bird", and rain had begun to fall as Godzilla came upon a small village and destroyed it, much to Bryson's horror. A villager attempted to shoot Godzilla, but ended up wounding Bryson's shoulder and damaging his suit. Not letting this deter him from reaching his goal, by the twelfth hour of his climb Bryson was nearly at Godzilla's head, but then Kumonga attacked. Kumonga had set a quicksand pit, and quickly went to wrapping up its prey, with Bryson on its back. He avoided being caught in the web by sheltering behind one of Godzilla's dorsal plates. Bryson began to think that all was lost, but then the blue light of Godzilla's atomic ray began to shine in the wrappings, and Godzilla escaped. It quickly began to attack Kumonga, and even ripped off one of its legs and beat it with it. Kumonga then began to retreat, but Godzilla delivered the finishing blow with its tail. Fifteen hours into his ordeal, Bryson finished his climb. The radiation he was exposed to through the hole in his suit left him with cancer, but altered his outlook on Godzilla. He stopped believing that attacking Godzilla would defeat it, but rather understanding it. He attempted to share his point of view, but was cut short when his interviewer had to leave the studio to cover another Godzilla attack.

Original Solicitation

When another monster shows up to tumble, the task is only gonna get tougher! Don't miss this special final issue to LEGENDS!"

On a mission to collect more psychics for one of the United Nations funded psychic schools, Miki Saegusa came across Tristan, who joined with no hesitation. He was taken with seven other students to see Headmaster Mugal, who informed them that they were to be trained to access the minds of Monsters to defeat them. While at school, Tristan was trained to access a monster's mind, and was able to connect with an aquatic kaiju. Due to his early success in connecting, Mugal brought him to the next level of connection to the monster, confirmed as Titanosaurus, but Saegusa removed him from the machine on account of how much pain he was experiencing. That night, Tristan's longing to see his family grew too great and he traveled to his home, but could not sense his parents inside. He then noticed that he had summoned Titanosaurus, and was horrified at the destruction he had unintentionally caused. While talking to Titanosaurus, a group of Aliens appeared behind him and teleported away with him. Miki and Mugal searched the wreckage of the institute, but were unable to psychically locate Tristan. Mugal then informed her that the U.N. considered the institute a failure, and that the children were to be sent home. Mugal, who was really the leader of the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens, took Tristan to his homeworld to help him control Titanosaurus to help two Mechagodzillas conquer the Earth. Mugal then prepared for an invasion of the planet, that would only be possible if Tristan believed he was doing the right thing.

Ethan then stayed home from school to watch over the egg, and when Doctor Holder prepared to enter his laboratory, he was arrested by Military Police. He even went as far as to call the Military bullies themselves for attacking a creature that only wanted to take its child and leave. Near the end of its raid, Rodan's egg hatched and Ethan climbed onto Rodan's wing and flew away with it while Military Police swore to his father that they would hunt and kill both Rodan and its child.

During an attack by Destoroyah on the Zone 8 Kaiju Defense Force Research Facility, Doctor Brian Anders was forced by a Colonel Matsumiya to utilize a device he created called the G-Signaler to summon Godzilla to fight Destoroyah off. The device failed to summon "Kaiju Alpha", and Destroyah destroyed the base and killed Matsumiya in the process. Major Samantha Tagger tried to free Matsumiya, but was forced to abandon him on his orders. As they fled the building, they heard the distant roar of Anguirus, whom Anders assured Tagger had no chance of defeating Destoroyah. Anguirus charged at Destoroyah, who put him into a choke hold with his tail. Tagger then steered a plane into the fray to aid Anguirus, whom she felt was being bullied by the more powerful monster. This drew Destoroyah's fire from Anguirus and onto them. They then decided to lure Destoroyah into some tanks of Freon in order to freeze it, one of the only recorded means of stopping it. Anders then tried to rework his G-Signaler to repel Desoroyah. It only disoriented it, but Matsumiya, who had freed himself and gotten into the last remaining helicopter in time to hear Anders' plan about the Freon tanks, and used the chopper's tow cable to bring the tank down on Destoroyah. When it thawed it returned to the ocean, and Matsumiya congratulated Anders for developing a device to repel kaiju. As Anguirus crossed the bay to head into the open ocean, Godzilla arose, but passed up Anguirus to attack the base.

Synopsis for "Makoto's Last Stand"
In the prologue, Makoto Sato is dead and buried. He had vowed to save Tokyo even if it ended in his own death.

After Makoto took control of Mechagodzilla at the G-Force headquarters with his sons Koji and Jiro, they flew to downtown Tokyo, which was being decimated by giant monsters there as a result of the Elias' being away from their temple on Monster Island. While flying over the destruction, they see civilians who are still trapped in the city, and decide to turn around and help them. Mechagodzilla then attacked Godzilla, directing his attention away from a bus with civilians and instead toward it. Jiro was angered by this seemingly idiotic result, however Makoto says he had been counting on it: all they needed now was to reach Ryota Takahashi before Godzilla reached them.

At Takahashi's tower, Oshii informed Takahashi that the Prime Minister's cabinet had approved his ransom of tens of billions of yen, and said there was no longer a reason to keep having the monsters destroying the city. Takahashi however, selfishly said he didn't want to stop the mayhem as it made him the greatest daikaiju, and aimed his pistols at Kou and Oshii after they exclaimed that continuing would be madness. Right then, Mechagodzilla's head crashed into the tower. Makoto walked out and grabbed the Elias and asked his sons to meet him in the streets below. Takahashi had disappeared.

In the streets, Makoto contacted Jiro and Koji who asked them to clear a space for Mothra to land, but they were having trouble with Rodan. They warned Makoto that "the most dangerous monster" was heading toward him, and out of nowhere Takahashi appeared and fired multiple times against Makoto. As Takahashi monologued about his greatness and aimed his gun at Makoto to finish him off, Godzilla stepped on Takahashi intentionally and purposefully. Mothra landed nearby soon after and Makoto released them. All of the monsters stopped fighting and began retreating, following Mothra and the Elias back to Monster Island.

Makoto stood up, relieved, only to see Chief Nakamura holding him at gunpoint. Nakamura at first threatened to kill him but ended up becoming regretful for being bought off by Takahashi. In the moment, he spared Makoto and told him to leave and reflect on what he too had done.

Months later Tokyo was rebuilt, all the monsters were back on Monster Island, and balance was restored. Jiro and Koji visited Monster Island to see Makoto, who had become the new keeper of the Elias.
