Marusan has announced their line up of of Ultraman 450 Series figures scheduled for release March/April 2017, they include Kanegon, Ultra Seven, Booska, Gabora, Peguila and Goro. Kanegon is a metallic light blue, 30cm tall (approx 12 inches) and will retail for 17,280 yen (approx $148 US). Ultra Seven has a regular color scheme, is 28cm tall and retails for 10,800 yen (approx $92 US). Booska is a Black Object figure (glossy black), 30cm tall, and will retail for 12,960 yen (approx $110 US). Gabora is a glossy dark brown with highlights around it's head, it comes with two heads, open and close, is 30cm tall, and retails for 17,280 yen. Peguila and Goro are light blue, are 30cm tall and each will retail for 12,960. They are available for pre-order from Marusan and other retailers.

X-Plus is releasing the Large Monster Series Alien Mephilas (Mefilas) (2nd generation) Ric Boy Limited figure, which will come with Mandarin Grass (weapon). The figure is 23cm tall (approx 9 inches) and will retail for 14,364 yen (approx $123 US). It will be released March/April 2017 from X-Plus, a non Ric version maybe available as well.
Bandai Gashapon is releasing the Ultimate Luminous Premium Ultraman Set One, it includes Ultraman Orb and Ultraman Gaia (V2). Both feature a light-up gimmick like previous releases but these are being sold as a set instead of as individual figures. Ultraman Orb is 136mm tall and Ultraman Gaia is 121mm (approx 5 inches) and will retail for 3,580 yen (approx $30 US). They are available for pre-order now from the Bandai site with release in April 2017.
Acro has had a lull in their Kaiju Remix Series figures but now they are back and with the awesome Dorako figure. Shown a while back at a show as a prototype this is a reimagining of the Ultra kaiju, Takayuki Takeya took charge of the supervision of the REMIX design drawn by Yasushi Azawa who died in February 2016. This hand painted figure stands 32cm tall (approx 13 inches) and will retail for 12,800 yen (approx $109 US).It can be preordered now from AmiAmi and other retailers with release in April 2017.
Also from Acro are two new figures in the KRS35 series (1/35 scale), Gabora and Miclas (bottom). Both are 5.7 cm tall (approx 2.5 inches) and will retail for 880 yen (approx $7.50 US). They are also available for pre-order with release in March 2017. Earth Defense Forces Secret Base (Albatross Japan) revealed their Winter Wonder Festival Ultraman & Spectreman exclusives, Kabagon, Dozilla, Paragon, and Mother Reuse(?). No info was given other then the reveal. We will post more info once we get it. Update: new pic for Paragon.
Bandai's Gashapon line is releasing the second series of Ultraman Ultimate Luminous capsule toys, this series feature Ultra Seven and Ultraman Dyna as well and a building. All three have a light-up feature (left and right pics) and more than one building can be stacked on top of each other (bottom pic). The Ultras are 12cm tall (approx 5 inches) the building is approx half as tall. They retail for 500 yen (approx $4.30) and should be released soon. The first series featured Ultraman B and Ultraman Tiga, as well as the same building.
CCP is releasing Ultraman Zoffy and Pandon The Two Headed Monster. Both are 1/6 scale figures, 30cm tall (approx 12 inches). Pandon retails for 16,200 yen (approx $141 US), it feature removable parts, arm and leg, that can be changed out with robotic (metal like) appendages. The parts are sold separately for 3,990 yen (approx $35 US). Ultraman Zoffy is also 16,200 yen and features a light-up gimmick that activates with movement of the arm and battle damage. A second version without the light-up gimmick and damage is 15,120 yen. Both can be pre-ordered from the CCP website with release in August 2017.
Bandai is releasing the Ultra Seven & Ultraman Zero 50th Special Set & Ultraman Belial Figure. The set features the father and son team of Ultra Seven and Ultraman Zero, Ultra Seven comes with a cape, both figures are 17cm tall (approx 7 inches) and will retail for 3500 yen (approx $30 US). Ultraman Belial, who appeared in Ultraman Orb as a symbol of the power of darkness with its power, is a Ultra Big Soft vinyl, it's 23cm tall (9 inches) and will retail for 2000 yen (approx $17 US). The figures will be released in Jan 2017 from Bandai and other retailers.
X-Plus revealed their fully painted Ultraman from Return Of Ultraman along with Black King. Ultraman was posted on the Ric site as an unpainted prototype, along with Kingstron. No word if Black King will get a re-release, he was released in 2010, or any info on Kingstron. From the tag this figure will be released in Feb 2017 for 12,960 yen, and the Ric will have a light-up feature.
Update: Kingstron (pic at bottom) was revealed at the Tokyo Comic Con X-Plus booth, the tag isn't very clear in the pic but it should be released in March 2017 and looks to be 14,904 yen. |
