Tamashii/Bandai is releasing the ​S.H. MonsterArts Mechagodzilla 1993 & Garuda & Fire Rodan Makuhari Decisive Battle Version Set for the 30th Anniversary of the film. This set includes all three figures with updated paint schemes, both Mechagodzilla and Garuda feature a blueish silver (more accurate to the movie), Rodan uses clear parts on the head and back, it comes with stands for Garuda and Rodan, replacement abdominal parts for the plasma grenade, and it also includes the G Crusher. Mechagodzilla and Garuda can connect to form Super Mechagodzilla, and by partially adjusting the head structure, it is possible to reproduce the right eye that was damaged in the battle (replacement head(?)). Figures are the same size as the previously released figures and the set will retail for 24,200 yen, pre-order start July 7th with release scheduled for Dec 2023.

The Godzilla Store is releasing new Mothra and Battra merchandise, this includes new Flapping Pen Holders, pouch, notebook, and handkerchief. The Pen Holders include Battra and Rainbow Mothra individually and a set featuring Battra and the previously released Mothra, they are approx. 31cm wide and 16cm in length, the individual ones are 1,400 yen with the set retailing for 2,600 yen. The other items range from 550 yen to 1,650 yen. The Battra figure is the same as in our new MMS figure post. All can be ordered now from the Godzilla Store.

Bandai Gashapon is releasing the Ultimate Toho Kaiju Godzilla Head Mini Busts. These busts include the Godzilla '62, '74, '84, are approx. 5.7cm tall and the logo plate (which is separate) is 1.55 cm tall, they will retail for 500 yen. They will be available from Bandai and retail outlets with release from Bandai Oct 2023 and retailers Nov 2023, it is random as to which one you get.

Marusan has another Pop-Up Shop happening with the Pop-Up Kaijyu Salon Shop In Asakusa  at a new location and is releasing more lottery figures. They are releasing the 1974 Godzilla 450 Green Glitter Version, and a Toho Monster Lucky Bag featuring glitter figures. The Godzilla 450 is 30cm, and the lucky bag figures 23cm tall, they retail for 27,500 yen for the 1974, and 14,300 yen for the lucky bag figures. The lottery can be entered on the Marusan Instagram page or by emailing Marusan with the subject "POP-UP Asakusa 7/8" and your name, address, phone number by July 3th.

Medicom is releasing the Godzilla Vinyl Wars EX Godzilla 2000 Millennium Edition Season 3 Anraku Ansaku lottery figure. This colorway has a unique two-tone green color scheme that gives the appearance of light and shadow, it stands 26cm tall and will retail for 16,500 yen. The lottery can be entered on the Medicom website from June 24th to July 10th, and is scheduled to be released November 2023.

X-Plus has announced the Large Monster Series Godzilla 1992, which represents Godzilla in his final battle with Mothra and Battra. This figure stands 27cm tall, and 35cm in length, the Ric versions features light up fins, and it retails for 19,800 yen for the Ric, 18,700 for the standard. It can be pre-ordered now from X-Plus (Ric) and other retailers with release scheduled for August 2023.

The Kiryu saga concludes! Three Kaiju legends come together in a final battle in GODZILLA: TOKYO S.O.S. Godzilla rages against Tokyo while Kiryu (aka Mechagodzilla) is on standby as politicians decide whether or not to relaunch. Meanwhile, Mothra and the Shobijin show up at the home of Chujo, an ex-soldier who met Mothra in the 1960s. The Shobijin ask for the Prime Minister to take Kiryu to the sea, so the bones of the original Godzilla it's built on can be laid to rest, but Japan doesn't believe Mothra will fight in Kiryu's place. All of this sets the stage for a titanic battle between Godzilla, Mothra and Kiryu that will decide the future safety of Japan. As with its prequel GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA, GODZILLA: TOKYO S.O.S. was scored by Michiru Oshima, who returned with an equally-brilliant score to shake the pillars of heaven. Oshima not only brings back her thrilling themes for Godzilla and Kiryu but also introduces a wonderfully versatile theme for Mothra, stunning in ethereal and melancholic modes, and of course, ‘Mothra's Song’ appears. There's a genuine emotional resonance to Oshima's music amongst the fire and the fury, with beautiful choral material homaging Akira Ifukube's original music from 1954. X-Plus is releasing the Toho 30cm Series Yuji Sakai Modeling Collection Shin Godzilla 4th Form Awakening Version (same sculpt as the Godzilla Store version). There is two versions of this figure, the Ric light up, which lights up the length of the figure and end of the tail, and a standard, it stands 34cm tall (to tail), 32cm deep, and 23cm wide, it is based on a kit by Yuji Sakai, and will retail for 34,650 yen for the Ric, 30,800 yen for the standard. It is available for pre-order now from X-Plus (Ric and other retailers (standard), with release scheduled for Dec 2023.

Yet again, Tanaka-sensei has proven himself as one of the leading sculptor in Godzilla market with King Ghidorah 1991. All the micro-details on the scales were sculpted individually in accordance with the reference of actual suit from the movie, as well as the posture where King Ghidorah’s necks were controlled by puppeteers using piano strings, resulting in his unique movements.
And with the benefits from using high-quality glass balls equipped in the eye sockets of our previous release, Zilla, we decided to give King Ghidorah the same treatment to enhance realism to the maximum level.
Our painting team at Spiral Studio also worked hard to depict the exact color of King Ghidorah 1991 portrayed in the movie where his scales consist of rusty gold and copper hue. We even added dusty effect into each scale piece by piece in order to capture the complete likeness.
After all, our goal is to ensure that this statue will be the absolute definitive piece and most accurate version of King Ghidorah 1991 for years to come.
