The Meg Swims Past $100 Million Domestically & $400 Million Worldwide

The Meg finished second in its third weekend at the box office giving Warner Bros. it's second one, two punch two weekends in a row with Crazy Rich Asians finishing first. The two new big releases this weekend both finished poorly, Happy Time Murders (3rd), and A.X.L. (10th).

The Meg took in almost $13 million in the US to bring its domestic total to $105 million, internationally it took in $32.7 million this weekend bringing it's international total to $306.5 million. Its total take passed the $400 million mark hitting $411.5 million worldwide. Considering this is only it's third weekend there is a pretty good chance it could finish north of $500 million total.

Besides the US the other big market for the film has been China where the film has taken in $143 million, the film should easily pass the $150 million mark (possibly $175 million) there alone. It will be interesting to see where it ends up with its total take.
