In January the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon will be showing three kaiju films, King Kong 1933, Mothra 1961, and Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla 1974. The first two are 35mm versions, with Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla being the restored version, King Kong will be shown on January 21st and 22nd at 3:30 PM, Mothra will be shown January 22nd at 7:00 PM, and Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla January 21st at 7:00 PM. 

The Hollywood Theatre is located at 4122 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, Oregon 97212, tickets can be purchased online or at the Hollywood Theatre Box Office, which opens 30 minutes prior to the first showing of the day/evening. Tickets for most films are $10 for adults, $8 for students/seniors (65+)/children, and $7 for members. LOS ANGELES – October 6, 2021 – Toho International, Inc. is proud to announce a series of one-of-a-kind experiences fit for the King of Monsters to celebrate its 67th birthday. Godzilla’s long history continues to shape worldwide pop culture and festivities this year aimed to engage fans new and old to roll out beginning Nov. 3, the date the first film premiered in 1954.
 
Austin-based movie theater company Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, in association with Janus Films, will exclusively host a coast-to-coast world premiere of the long-anticipated 4K remastering of the classic 1954 “Godzilla” film. The screenings will be held at over two dozen locations across the U.S. including flagship theaters in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco and will mark 67 years since Godzilla’s first appearance in Toho’s “Gojira,” the classic monster movie widely regarded as a masterpiece that continues to shape the course of worldwide pop culture. In addition, throughout the first half of November, Alamo Drafthouse will screen fan-favorite kaiju classics “Godzilla vs. Hedorah,” “Shin Godzilla,” and a double feature of two Heisei era classics that have never been shown theatrically in North America.
 
To keep the birthday buzz going, Toho Int. has teamed up with Mondo, Super7, Kinokuniya, and the official Godzilla Shop on Amazon to offer fans exciting new Godzilla merchandise. Fans can also tune in to Toho’s Official Godzilla YouTube Channel for all-new content, including the 1978 “Godzilla” animated series, “Godziban” puppet show, and new original “Godzilla Chomp” documentary series premiering soon.
 
Alamo Drafthouse Godzilla Film Screenings
On Godzilla’s birthday, November 3, Alamo Drafthouse locations from coast-to-coast will exclusively premiere the long-anticipated 4K restoration of “Godzilla.” The newly-restored film has not yet screened in Japan or the U.S., making the November 3rd screenings a worldwide premiere.
 
From November 5-11, the Godzilla birthday festivities continue at select Alamo Drafthouse locations with a 50th anniversary screening of one of Godzilla’s strangest adventures ever, “Godzilla vs. Hedorah,” as well as 2016’s critically-acclaimed “Shin Godzilla.” Then, beginning the week of November 12th, select Alamo Drafthouse locations will present a must-see double feature spectacular – two classics of the Heisei era never before seen in American cinemas:
 
1984’s “The Return of Godzilla,” the kickoff to the Heisei era and a direct sequel to “Gojira,” which was heavily re-edited and released in the United States as “Godzilla 1985.” The release of the original Japanese version has never been officially screened on U.S. grounds.
1989’s “Godzilla vs. Biollante,” which only received a direct-to-video release in the U.S. has never received an official release in American theaters. 
“Godzilla continues its reign as King of the Monsters, transcending mere entertainment icons and embodying emotions and social issues reflective of the times,” said Keiji Ota, Chief Godzilla Officer. “It is timely that we introduce the world to this first 4K version of the original Godzilla film to honor the legacy of this globally recognized symbol to the strongest fanbase in the world.”
 
“Toho’s enduring cast of kaiju creations have been lighting up Alamo Drafthouse screens for almost 25 years, so we were honored to help plan Godzilla’s birthday party,” says John Smith, Senior Film Programmer for Alamo Drafthouse. “It’s been a thrill to partner with Toho on the 4K premiere and our Happy Birthday, Godzilla deep dive into some of the best work that Toho has ever produced.”

For the first time ever, an augmented reality experience will be created for the original 1954 Godzilla character. Fans download the AR experience on their mobile device using the QR code available at Godzilla.com and Alamo Drafthouse locations. Share photos using the hashtag #GodzillaDay.

Pop culture collectibles brand Mondo has kicked off its “Godzilla Week” festivities with the release of several exciting new products, including Godzilla and Hedorah Sofubis, the latest addition to their “Godzilla Museum” statue line, and more. Following its successful Japan and Mexico releases, the highly-anticipated, 13-episode anime series Godzilla Singular Point is making its global premiere June 24th on Netflix.

Logline: Brought together by a mysterious song, a grad student and an engineer lead the fight against an unimaginable force that may spell doom for the world… Godzilla Singular Point is an original anime series featuring character designs by Blue Exorcist’s Kazue Kato and a new Godzilla design from legendary Ghibli animator Eiji Yamamori.
  • Following the success of Godzilla anime films, Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle and Godzilla: The Planet Eater comes an all new original anime series from director Atsushi Takahashi (Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi). 
  • Anime studio bones (My Hero Academia) in partnership with studio Orange (Beastars, Land of the Lustrous), serve as series producers, combining hand-drawn and CG animation styles.

Episode Overview:
  • Episode 1: Jacks-of-all-trades Yun and Haberu investigate sounds emanating from an empty mansion. They locate the source nearby, while Mei hears the same tune.
  • Episode 2: Yun, Goro and their robot Jet Jaguar clash with a hostile pterosaur-like kaiju, Rodan. Mei travels to Tokyo to meet with a world-renowned researcher.
  • Episode 3: A legion of Rodan swarm towards Nigashio. The Otaki Factory crew scramble to lure them away from the city, but soon find themselves surrounded.
  • Episode 4: Yun and Haberu deduce that Misakioku may be linked to the Rodan incursion. Mei attends Li's lecture in Dubai, where the professor reveals new material.
  • Episode 5: Salunga emerges from the depths of the Upala research station shrouded in red dust. Meanwhile, Yun observes Anguirus exhibiting an uncanny ability. 
  • Episode 6: Mei discovers a mysterious code in Professor Ashihara's research. The Otaki crew confront Anguirus as part of the city's extermination efforts.
  • Episode 7: Following a group of Manda, a giant kaiju makes landfall in Tokyo. Red dust forces Mei and Professor Li's flight to London to divert to Milan.
  • Episode 8: Ground forces under the command of Matsubara respond to Godzilla’s attack on Tokyo. Now in London, Mei attempts to decipher Ashihara’s research.
  • Episode 9: Godzilla continues to advance on Tokyo, covering the city in red dust. The Otaki crew rushes to rescue a person ensnared by spider-like kaiju.
  • Episode 10: Back at Ashihara’s mansion, Yun and Haberu attempt to decipher the professor’s research using Jet Jaguar. In India, Lina takes Mei to meet with BB.
  • Episode 11: Before heading to the Super Dimension Calculator, BB offers Mei a view of the Singular Point. The Otaki crew leave for Tokyo to destroy Godzilla.
  • Episode 12: Mei learns of a large explosion triggered by Ashihara's calculator long ago. Kanoko gives Matsubara the Orthogonal Diagonalizer to use against Godzilla.
  • Episode 13: Mei, BB and Pelops II attempt to prevent the Catastrophe, but Salunga ambushes them. Meanwhile, the Otaki crew make their final push toward Godzilla.

The Japanese release of Godzilla Singular Point on Blu-ray and DVD has been announced, and there will be three volumes (no official images of the second two volumes were available yet). The Godzilla Store has all three listed, Volume 1 features episodes 1 - 5 plus a bonus video, includes an acrylic stand, specially designed jacket (case), codes for download of the soundtrack and for a mobile game, and a limited edition Godzilla Ultima Movie Monster Series Heat Ray Radiation figure. There will also be a version without the figure as well (all other items are included in this set). Volume 2 includes episodes 6 - 9 plus a bonus video, booklet, and acrylic stand, Volume 3 includes episodes 10 - 13 plus a bonus video, booklet, and acrylic stand. The bonus items are included with first print sets with all three volumes. Prices are 14,740 yen for the limited edition set, Vol. 1 is 12,870 yen, Vol. 2 & 3 are 12,320 yen (all Blu-rays), DVD versions are available as well for the three regular sets. They can be pre-ordered from the Godzilla Store now with release schedule for August 2021. Note other retailers may have this as well.
Update on other retailers, Toho Animation Store will have the same bundle as the Godzilla Store (with figure) but with a A4 size tapestry instead of the acrylic stand, Amazon will have a B1 cloth poster, Animate will have a A3 clear poster and set of 3 can badges, and Rakuten will have a set of five scene postcards. Godzilla Takes on the Mobile Game World with Three Brand New Games for iOS and Android

TOKYO, March 25, 2020 – TOHO Games, the game division of Toho Co., Ltd. today announces the 2021 worldwide release of three free-to-play Godzilla mobile games: "Run Godzilla", "Godzilla Destruction", and "Godzilla Battle Line". "Run Godzilla" will be released worldwide (excluding Japan) on March 25, 2021. The pre-registration campaigns for "Godzilla Destruction" and "Godzilla Battle Line" will begin on the same day. In anticipation of these three exciting new games, key visuals and a promo video has been unveiled.

“Toho has been deeply involved with the production process for all three games since the early planning stages,” said Keiji Ota, Director and Chief Godzilla Officer at Toho. “All the staff involved in the project have worked together to keep alive the spirit of the Godzilla series, while also creating a ‘new Godzilla’ specially for the mobile game world. Last year was the first Atami Vs. Godzilla event, now the 2020 event is in full swing, this years event seems slightly toned down from last year due to the pandemic but is still interesting it takes place at Atami Castle location of the famous battle between King Kong and Godzilla. Like year there are a number of events happening these include stamp rallies, sales locations, photo ops, special exhibition panel, and more.

​With the stamps you have to go to different locations to get the stamps located in and around Atami Castle, there are also special trading cards that people can receive there are sixteen in all, eight available from November 1st till the 30th, and a second eight from Dec 1st till Dec 31st, the fronts have various images from Godzilla films while the backs when put together create the Atami Vs. Godzilla promo art (each set of eight makes the same image from the back). There are photo ops also place around the castle, a two meter tall Godzilla 1962 standee will be on the second floor of the castle, while six other standees will be around the castle. The special event will take place on the second floor of the castle (no details were listed), at multiple times. There will also be event merchandise like t-shirts, and more, plus over twenty five Movie Monster Series figures. Check out some of the items below.

As many have seen 2021 is shaping up to be a great year for kaiju fans despite there being question marks on the release of Godzilla Vs. Kong. It's been Netflix to the rescue with not one but at least three major kaiju related series, Godzilla Singular Point, Pacific Rim: The Black, and the Ultraman Anime second season.

Godzilla Singular Point looks to bring a different style series than what the previous anime films were, and there will be many new takes on classic kaiju along with what looks to be a totally new storyline. Some of the classic kaiju include what appear to be Anguirus, Jet Jaguar, and possible Rodan, Titanosaurus, Gabara, and more, along with a redesigned version of Godzilla (of course), all which appear in the recently released trailer. The official release date looks to possible be April 2021 per some of the released material. Check out our previous article here.

To go along with that we have finally got word of the long awaited Pacific Rim anime series, Pacific Rim: Black (note the Netflix Japanese anime page seems to give the name "The Dark Continent" or "The Continent Of Darkness" which maybe the Japanese title), not much info was given on this series yet other than a synopsis “Long ago, humanity defeated the Kaiju. Now, they’re evacuating Australia. Join a pair of siblings and their battered, long-abandoned Jaegar as they battle across a continent of danger.” and two screen shots, more as it is announced.

But if that isn't enough we know there's the second season of the Ultraman Anime series coming, while not much info has been given a teaser trailer did feature the announcement of Ultraman Taro, plus the return of a number of characters from season one. More on this as we get it.

GODZILLA TAKES JELLY BEAN FORM IN “FALL GUYS: ULTIMATE KNOCKOUT” STARTING NOVEMBER 3
The Kaiju Crossover Arrives in Time for Godzilla Day and Japan’s Godzilla Festival Online 2020
London, October 27, 2020 – Ahead of Godzilla Day and the widely attended Godzilla Festival in Japan, Mediatonic and Toho Co., Ltd. are helping fans celebrate the King of the Monsters by bringing the fan-favorite kaiju to gamers everywhere in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Beginning November 3, through a limited time only, fans will have the opportunity to use the all-new Godzilla skin available to players for 10 Crowns total. Featuring Godzilla’s trademark features such as its three rows of dorsal fins, the character has been designed to fit right into the Fall Guys world, including different colors depending on what the game calls for. Fall Guys is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. 
 
With millions of copies sold, the wildly popular Fall Guys multiplayer game flings hordes of contestants together online in a mad dash through round after round of escalating chaos until one victor remains. The Godzilla crossover comes just after the game’s season 2 release, which introduced new medieval-themed games, costumes and features.

On November 3, 1954, Godzilla made its first appearance in Toho’s “Godzilla,” a classic monster movie widely regarded as a masterpiece. The date is officially Godzilla’s birthday, with a Godzilla Festival held in Japan each year to celebrate. In 2019, the festival gathered over 20,000 visitors, and this year’s event will be held virtually where even more fans are expected to tune-in.

​​GODZILLA RETURNS TO NETFLIX IN NEW ANIME SERIES GODZILLA SINGULAR POINT
Studio bones and Orange team up for a new series coming to Netflix in 2021​
  • Netflix announces an all new original anime series Godzilla Singular Point  featuring a brand new cast and original story set to premiere globally on Netflix in 2021.
  • Following the success of Godzilla anime films, Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle and Godzilla: The Planet Eater comes an all new original anime series from director Atsushi Takahashi (Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi).
  • Anime studio bones (My Hero Academia) in partnership with studio Orange, (Beastars, Land of the Lustrous) will produce the series combining hand-drawn and CG animation styles.
  • In addition to director Takahashi, the creative team includes Kan Sawada, composer for countless Doraemon films and series such as Yowamushi Pedal, Japanese science-fiction novelist Toh Enjoe making his TV debut as editor and writer for the series, Kazue Kato creator of Blue Exorcist and the hit comic currently serialized in Jump Square will serve as the character designer, and animator Eiji Yamamori from Studio Ghibli films including Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and The Wind Rises will do the Kaiju design.
