Amazon has a listing for a Limited Edition Godzilla MetalPak which is to feature a blu-ray, DVD and digital copy in a metal case with embossed artwork and Godzilla's roar! While it is listed at $49.99 one can pre order for $34.99. No other details are given on what bonuses will be included on the discs. Not sure if this is true or a rumor but Bandai Namco has the license to Godzilla and are supposely working on a PlayStation 3 game. The news comes from Japanese magazine leaks, which reports Godzilla will have a retro special effects style. SH Monster Arts are creating 3D models and 3D skin for the Godzilla video game. Godzilla will be able to fight using kicks, tail swipes, and his trademark atomic breath. An image shows various enemies standing in front of Godzilla. We should hope they do a PS4 and Xbox One. Legendary's Godzilla 2014 has surpassed $477 million worldwide with $194 domestically and $282 internationally, including $14 million from China for the film which is coming out of it's second weekend. The film has one last market to open in, it's home market so to speak, Japan. The film was just shy of $2 million domestically this week in what was a slow week box office wise, which will pick up with Transformers opening this coming weekend. Godzilla 2014 is just shy of $440 million ($439,601,000 to be exact) thanks to a strong opening weekend in China, hitting approx. $36 million. Godzilla has hit $191 million domestically and $248 internationally. While this is an excellent opening there is a little disappointment, in a sense, with this because Pacific Rim opened with a $45 million weekend. I'm not sure if this had to do with Pacific Rim opening there sooner then Godzilla after other markets (3 weeks vs. 4) or other reasons. Pacific Rim top the $100 million mark there if Godzilla hits that mark it will certainly pass the $500 million plateau. China is the second largest market after the US and Godzilla has had the best opening of 2014 there and giving Warner Bros. it's best ever opening there as well. From Variety “Godzilla” opened to monster numbers at the China box office on Friday with $10.9 million for the biggest opening day of 2014. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ reboot of the classic franchise outgrossed this year’s previous opening-day champs, “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” and is expected to finish No. 1 in the region. Directed by Gareth Edwards, “Godzilla” has earned nearly $400 million at the worldwide box office. The film has opened in all international territories except Japan. A listing on Walmart's website has a pre-order for Godzilla 2014 and list the release date for 11/18/14. Seems pretty early to release this info considering the film is still in theaters and is still to be released in a couple of markets. No bonuses or extra features are listed but we can assume there maybe a directors cut or deleted scenes feature due to some scenes from trailers and such not making it into the film. |
