Godzilla 2014 Near $440 Million On Strong China Opening Weekend

Godzilla 2014 is just shy of $440 million ($439,601,000 to be exact) thanks to a strong opening weekend in China, hitting approx. $36 million. Godzilla has hit $191 million domestically and $248 internationally.

While this is an excellent opening there is a little disappointment, in a sense, with this because Pacific Rim opened with a $45 million weekend. I'm not sure if this had to do with Pacific Rim opening there sooner then Godzilla after other markets (3 weeks vs. 4) or other reasons. 

Pacific Rim top the $100 million mark there if Godzilla hits that mark it will certainly pass the $500 million plateau. 

China is the second largest market after the US and Godzilla has had the best opening of 2014 there and giving Warner Bros. it's best ever opening there as well.
