In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the master of movie stop motion animation, Ray Harryhausen, Star Ace is proud to release Ymir, the creature that came 20 million miles to Earth. This uniquely designed monster has a forked tail, scaly skin and is ready to attack.

Traditionally sculpted by the artisans of the famed creature shop of Kaibutsuya, this detailed Ymir statue is made from soft vinyl and stands 32cm tall. Each piece is hand-painted to bring out the details of the sculpt. His eyes can roll, and his jaw moves up and down.

The Deluxe version of this statue includes a display base with the Harryhausen logo and a bent lamp post. The standard version includes the logo base only.

Press Room: ZappAttack Ad Block Poster Monstrosity - curated by Alex Winter From Mondo
To create the new documentary ZAPPA, director Alex Winter combed through a thousand hours of mostly unseen material from Zappa’s personal archives.

To create the ZappAttack Ad Block Poster Monstrosity, Winter also raided The Press Room’s archive of over 40,000 vintage newspaper ad blocks, creating a loving pop-art collage representing Zappa’s love for classic monster and sci-fi movies. Titles represented include INVASION OF THE SAUCER-MEN, THE BLOB, THE CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF, THEM, GORGO, IT CONQUERED THE WORLD, MONSTER ON THE CAMPUS, THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN’T DIE, ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS, KONGA, and THE MAGNETIC MONSTERS.

This 18”x24” letterpress print is an edition of 250. All posters signed by Alex Winter, PLUS - live and in-person, Alex will sign and give away one copy at Alamo On Demand’s live watch party of ZAPPA, hosted on Scener on November 28th at 7:30pm Central.

Sunguts is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with a pop-up shop in Tokyo, and is releasing limited edition figures for it. A couple of kaiju related figures are Rabon in there color schemes, and Megalodon in clear pink, the Rabons stand 44cm tall and retail for 30,000 yen, Megalodon stands 40.5cm tall and retails for 20,000 yen. The exhibit, where the figures are available, is in the JR Tokyo Station and runs from Nov 1st through Nov 15th.

Bandai is releasing a set of figures based on monsters from the show Thunderbirds, a show the used puppets for the main characters, with scale models for scenery and more, there was also a comic strip based on the show as well. This set features two monsters from the Thunderbirds the Space Monster and the Lake Monster, the Space Monster is a full figure while the Lake Monster gives the appearance of coming out of the lake from a detailed base. They are 23cm tall and 47cm in length (Space), and 33cm tall , respectively, and the set retails for 39,600 yen, they can be pre-ordered now from Bandai with release scheduled for March 2021.

Mezco has announced their 5 Points ​Mezco’s Monsters: Glow-in-the-Dark The Frankenstein Monster figure. This figure comes in a old school blister card package, features green colored vinyl that glows in the dark, is articulated, and has a removable top of his head to reveal his brain (abnormal?). It can be ordered now for $13.13, yes a nice scary price from Mezco.

​AmiAmi is releasing the Grand Action Bigsize Model Giant Robo Calamity From Evolution Toy, the second big size toy from Giant Robo by Evolution Toy released from AmiAmi (pic at bottom of first release). This figure stands 40cm tall, has multiple points of articulation, die cast parts, light up eyes, and more, it will retail for 35,200 yen. Max Factory/Good Smile are releasing the Wonderful Hobby Selection Ryu Oyama's Cthulhu Evolution Statue. This resin statue features Cthulhu in a classic sitting pose originally designed by H.P. Lovecraft, it comes with a base (including magnets to hold in place), stands 35cm tall, and retails for 116,364 yen ($1219.99 US).
