Opening April 24, the 30-story Hotel Gracery, which sits atop the Toho Cinema in Shinjuku, boasts three themed rooms: two Godzilla View Rooms, which overlook the 39-foot head of the King of the Monsters that erupts from the roof of the theater below; and the Godzilla Room, which, as the video shows, boasts its own statue, a gallery of movie posters and an enormous claw that looms over the beds. The hotel of course also offers Godzilla memorabilia and special sweets.
The Godzilla Room costs between $334 to $417, depending on the night, while the Godzilla View Rooms go for a more reasonable $125.

TOHO has announce the writer and director of there forthcoming Godzilla film, Hideaki Anno(writer) and Shinji Higuchi(director). The film to be released in 2016 was a surprise when announced a few months back with the success of Legendary's version having done so well and having sequels announced too. Oricon.co.jp posted comments from both, the translations are below or click here for the Japanese language version. Anno Hideaki Mr., history of up to solidify the decision after receiving an offer we can, what you are trying to create. And Why I decided to make a fancy special effects movie. December 2012. Eva: After publication of Q, I was broken. So-called, became a depression. 6 years, to that it had again made the Eva by shaving his soul, it was deserved. 2013 spaced. Its one year was the year that mental negative wave comes back shaking many times. He served as a representative, he did not able to approach even just once in the studio that has burdened the work. 2014 early. I was able finally to return to the studio. Then, I am back to gradually animated work by rehabilitation of mind that over a period of 1 year. And, in 2015. Now after 20 years from the broadcast of the old Eva, you are not already waiting also purchased more than two years, also work towards the realization of the completion of the Shin Evangelion theater version, has been promoted somehow. My people around, and everyone of anime fans, it is because me support the motivation again towards the completion. Really I thank you. And, now at the same time, also I am going work to the fancy special effects movie form. Beginning was the 2013 end of January. Directly from the people of Toho "I want to ask the director of the new movie of Godzilla", was commissioned. I was was mentally unstable as well, it "is impossible. Also to some Eva, is not'm able to," said the spot was Cosi. But, mind is moved to Toho of sincerity and allies Shinji Higuchi director of enthusiasm, the same year March, it was decided to undertake the supervision. Past of continuity, etc. just not science fiction video playback of prayer, wish I put in the special effects Museum, is giving back to the author and past work of predecessors Only then embody the spirit, is the completion of its intention and responsibility, that to reach the feelings, it was decided to undertake. Now you can not only, you can do because now, new, and I think that challenge one-time, it was decided to undertake. Not the Eva, and realize a state that does not continue to the new works by incorporating not and previously myself, it was decided to undertake. The same year in May, I want to draw as a work, I decided the subject to be draw. And the same year in June, submit a proposal that G work memo to Toho, and start creating the plot, etc.. The world of science fiction that there is Godzilla, reality of caricature not only dreams and aspirations, is also a satire or a mirror image. In the current Japan is also a reckless attempt to draw it. Honestly, in production costs also production time also extremely low in Japan in the field when compared to world capital, in the constraints on the various terms of content, I do not know really it is how far the draw. However, pride as a movie, and as a funny video work even a little, it is, proceed to think now of the thing can be to me also thin Eva this work is also going to make at best, the movie Yes twists and turns in the direction and screenplay content, etc., we are led to the current. Author is merely only excuse also wrote what, a situation that is exposed in front of good faith and bad faith on the -ply know, to make by carrying a fancy special effects work to represent Japan in this country of this era, the fact that from the desire that if you could understand even a little, we have asked the Setsubun. Finally, and the surrounding people who will support his, again thanks to everyone of the fan audience that is willing to support the work, the video can make, I thank you again to the fact that. Thanks you. << Written and general director Anno Hideaki >> Higuchi true of hot and deep "Godzilla Love" and now state of mind not excited about the resurrection that have passed since three decades to sneak in the field of filmmaking, free amateur movie the difference between the ideal and the reality that was witnessed in the field Even three decades from the negative butyrate to the hero that was running the world of the front lines. Time was come at last. Reckless high school students of the college hero also now Arafifu. It is like a dream, but I must now dropped this into reality. Not afford to arrange the sleep talking. That you want to do really, that you need to do, that you should not be doing absolutely, that you do not want to do it if it can be, you have fought in my head and turned to four freezing. Just like it is in the brain champion festival. Well. Time of play I was finished. Still, I a triumph over the only way out to pressure such that want to run away to be Tachimukaeru the best companion. That you were born in this country that gave birth to this great God, Meguriae to work as special effects, it was come continues, and while thanks to fate that this opportunity came around, next year, the worst nightmare to everyone at the highest will deliver. << Director / feats Director (concurrently) Shinji Higuchi >>

Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, first appeared in 1954. Scientists studied Godzilla and found that they could harness energy from the monster. Called “G-Energy,” this seemingly endless source of power was used to better the lives of all mankind. 60 years later, just when mankind’s memory of the beast faded, Godzilla appeared again. Godzilla destroyed at will, all in search of more G-Energy. Such irony, the same G-Energy which was used to better the people’s lives, also caused Godzilla to awaken. Release Date - Summer 2015 Platforms - PlayStation®4 PlayStation®3 A few days ago it was announced that TOHO will be making a new Godzilla film to be released in 2016, but what does this mean for Legendary’s Godzilla films and the franchise as a whole. There have been separate Godzilla films for the US and Japan before, most being re-edited versions and a completely new version from Sony in ’98. Sony’s Godzilla wasn’t considered a success so TOHO making a new film and releasing it the next year wasn’t a big surprise. But Legendary’s Godzilla was a success by most accounts so why would TOHO risk hurting that success or are they looking to capitalize on it. First TOHO’s new Godzilla film needs to be a leap forward from past efforts, a man in suit Godzilla would most likely not cut it especially with how good CGI has become, Legendary’s Godzilla was done extremely well in this regard, but TOHO’s would also have to be different enough not to confuse fans into thinking it is a sequel or at least related. Many fans felt Legendary’s film gave new life to the series especially with the announcement of two sequels after the film’s debut and the inclusion of Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah for those sequels, the last Japanese efforts were not overly successful which cause the series going into hiatus. TOHO looks to be taking its effort very serious creating a brain trust, so to speak, to make decisions regard the direction of the new film(s) they will make. It is unclear if they are in contact with Legendary on concepts and story ideas, it would be really bad if both film studios made similar films story and character wise. Toho would probably be better off with new monsters than reworked versions of classic monsters since Legendary will use some of them but the negative to that would be how those new monsters would go over with fans. It will be interesting to see where the TOHO film will start from whether it will use the original film as a starting point or a whole new origin. Legendary’s film did very well in the US but made a good portion of its take internationally, while Japan was part of that it wasn’t a big part of it even though it did well there, TOHO’s film would need to have a good international take to be successful especially if TOHO goes with more modern film making techniques (CGI, etc.). One positive already is that it will fill the gap for Godzilla fans having to wait till 2018 for Legendary’s sequel to be released. My biggest fear is it will underwhelm fans making TOHO’s effort short lived and possibly hurting Legendary’s film but my hope it both will be very successful and will continue the longest running film series. "“The time has come for Japan to make a film that will not lose to Hollywood.” Ueda added that Toho hopes to make Godzilla a character that “will represent Japan and be loved around the world” by the time of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics." - Head of the new Godzilla project, veteran producer Taichi Ueda (via Variety). From Anime News Network via Cinema Today (Japan) TOHO is producing a new work of its iconic film monster Godzilla for release throughout Japan in 2016. It will be the first Godzilla film by TOHO since 2004's Godzilla Final Wars (pictured right). According to the Cinema Today website, the "legendary" Japanese franchise is undergoing a revival, in response to the heightened fan support after Gareth Edwards and Legendary Pictures' Hollywood Godzilla film became a worldwide hit. Edwards' film has opened in 63 countries and territories, and has earned over 57 billion yen (about US$470 million) worldwide, including 3.2 billion yen (US$26 million) in Japan alone. Production of the new film will run from summer to fall of next year, and TOHO is assembling the staff. It will have no direct ties with Edwards' film, but will instead be an entirely new Godzilla film. Edwards and Legendary Pictures are separately planning a sequel to their own film. TOHO proclaimed, "The time has come to make a film that will not bow down to the Hollywood film," thanks to a combination of rapidly improving filmmaking techniques (as exemplified by the ongoing Parasyte films) and know-how developed over the years in Japan. TOHO is also inaugurating the Godzilla Conference or "Godzi-con," a organization to discuss and determine the strategy of Godzilla projects — including but not limited to the new film — in response to the growing Godzilla fandom bolstered by Edwards' film. It is now mainly composed of TOHO staff members, but TOHO is considering adding other creators and businesses to explore new project possibilities. Note: This is not the first time this has been said but the previous time seem to be a rumor this time it seems likely it will happen. Update: it has been confirmed on the Japanese Godzilla site. From The Good The Bad And Godzilla While Toho’s Visual Effects films have been run before on the Nihon Eiga Senmon Channel (Japanese Movie Specialty Channel), and this past spring and summer saw a countdown of every Godzilla title on the Satellite Cable station to usher in the domestic release of Gareth Edwards’ GODZILLA (2014), there was more amazing news dropped on their website this past Wednesday morning in Japan, that will be another great cause for kaiju eiga fans across the globe to rejoice. For "Unearthed! Treasures of Visual Effects Collection," four films will be broadcast during the Big G’s 60th Anniversary — a cross section of Honda and Tsuburaya’s best, which isn't special in of itself, nor the premiere of new HD transfers, but rather that two of the films will be hailed as celebrations in of themselves. One of them, fans have been hoping on for decades, while the other is a completely mind-boggling surprising announcement, which I never saw coming. Here’s the biggest news, first: According to the NESC website, some of the lost negative elements for the full-length theatrical version of KING KONG VS. GODZILLA (1962) have recently been discovered and have been given a HD makeover. There is no word on how, when or where the footage was discovered, but this is extremely good news since the missing footage had been previously sourced from a worn anamorphic 16mm roadshow print.
