"When a massive, gilled monster emerges from the deep and tears through the city, the government scrambles to save its citizens. A rag-tag team of volunteers cuts through a web of red tape to uncover the monster’s weakness and its mysterious ties to a foreign superpower. But time is not on their side—the greatest catastrophe to ever befall the world is about to evolve right before their very eyes." When we posted about the Shin Godzilla Japanese Blu-ray release, and one of the Godzilla Store bonuses appeared to be an acrylic sheet but as it turns out it is actually a acrylic set of different versions of Godzilla and more in 1/800 scale. The set includes Godzilla '54, '84, GMK 2001, Burning Godzilla '95, Godzilla 2000 (1999), Final Wars Godzilla, and of course Shin Godzilla, it also comes with the Parliament building, back round, scale display, small name plates, and stands for all. The length of the back round is over 28 inches with a height of almost 6 inches, the monsters are in scale with each other with Shin Godzilla coming in at almost 6 inches and Godzilla '54 being about 1/2 to 1/3 the size. We have posted a few of the exclusives being offered with the Shin Godzilla Blu-ray release, Amazon Japan's Steelbook (above), 7 Eleven Japan's Kiryu figure, and the S.H. One adaption is his ability to absorb other life forms, his tail is the first evidence of this showing what appear to be other sea life.
going forward, they can fight us on more of an individual basis, one to one, where Godzilla can't, and allow Godzilla to continue to evolve even further. It's sort how we out lived the dinosaurs, we evolved to adapt better then they did. Godzilla maybe realize bigger isn't nessacarily better or that he needs to be more able to fight us.
Godzilla could be essentially making himself into a "God" like figure to his followers the human/Godzilla hybrids, "The Children Of Godzilla", his own race so to speak, what more perfect evolution could there be. We will just have to wait for the potential sequel to find out. Note: photos in this article are from variest Facebook pages. Amazon Japan will have a exclusive version of Shin Godzilla featuring a Steelbook case for both the 4K and 3 Disc Blu-ray Sets. It seems from the listing there isn't any difference in the content, 3 or 4 Blu-ray discs, promo sheets, ticket holders, etc. From the image is a sample it does appear to have images on the in and outside, and shows that it can hold 4 discs so it is possible it's the same case for both. Of note it does state that it is region free which means US fans can purchase and play the movie. It will retail for 10,584 yen (approx $90 US) for the 4K, and 8,424 yen (approx $72 US) for the 3 Disc Blu-ray.
7 Eleven Japan is having a promo with the release of Shin Godzilla, the Shin Godzilla/Seven Net Limited Mechagodzilla No. 2 Machine Ver. Set. The set include the same Blu-ray/DVD's that we previously showed but instead of the ticket for the S.H. MonsterArts special figure the set includes a Godvilla Vs Evangelion MechaGodzilla figure. The figure is a repainted version of the Bandai Movie Monster series figure (6 inches we believe). Prices are about 2,000 yen (approx $17 US) over just the movie by itself (but less then the price of the S.H. MonsterArts figure plus the movie). It can be pre-odered from the Japanese 7 Eleven site with the same March 22 release.
