Marusan has revealed their October 2018 releases these include the Metarica Mechagodzilla '75, and their 95th Anniversary Varan and Rodan sets. Mechagodzilla is metallic silver on a black body, it's 30cm tall, and retails for 17,280. The Varan and Rodan sets each come with the figure and 4 mini figures as previous sets have. Both are glossy black, with Rodan having some sparkles on his wings, both are 23cm in size, and each set will retail for 10,800 yen. All can be pre-ordered now from Marusan (along with some Ultraman figures) with release scheduled for October 2018.

X-Plus has been teasing a Yuji Sakai Shin Godzilla for some time now, and now it's official. The Ric version of this figure features a clear vinyl with silver paint behind it to highlight the red parts of Shin's body (pics reflect difference). Based on a kit this figure stands 29cm tall, and will retail for 28,620 (for the Ric). It can be pre-ordered now with release scheduled for August 2018 (note the Ric version is also available from the Godzilla Store). Two other items from the Ric site, there is a teaser for a 30cm Jet Jaguar, and a interview with Yuji Sakai (bottom).

Q. First of all, please tell me when the prototype of "Godzilla (2016)" of this time was created as a motif which scene in the play was made.
Mr. Yuji Sakai (Mr. Sakai): When I first saw Godzilla appearing in the trailer of the movie "Shin · Godzilla" for the first time, I thought it was really cool , when I thought about a new work of 30 cm towards One Festival in the winter of 2017 I decided to build Godzilla of this scene without hesitation. It is February of movie release the next year. Details were based on CG making image by white group and cast of completed cast item. It was a completely different Godzilla from the successors Godzilla, so it took a lot of time to model it.

Mr. Sakai: I'm sorry that I had to give up due to the circumstances of adults such as laws and ordinances although I had repeated research with full-body luminescence. Some luminescence will not be Godzilla of that scene. I apologize, but I said that I should stop firing. In order to make it specification with special feeling suitable for Rick limitation without emitting light, Godzilla in the play was reproduced by the painting method sticking to transparent soft vinyl. I think that the power of a work is sufficiently conveyed even if it does not enter a light source if it is made into a work which looks bright with a painting technique. If this is thought to be amazing with this, it is a request.
Like the fans who would have wanted full-body luminescence, neither I nor the production team staff are disappointing, but I think that this frustration can be resolved in another form.
Q. How is the appearance of the reproduction of Sakai prototype which is the concept of this series?
Mr. Sakai: For now, there is no material more than resin in the reproducibility of prototype, it is a fact that there is a difference in size and detail if it is aligned with the finished product of resin. Still I am confident that the cost effectiveness is the best as I and the staff make efforts aiming at the highest quality of the soft vinyl products. Actually, fans who have acquired my resin kit also have added value to this series and many people have bought a model collection. I am pleased every time a product arrives as a sample myself and I am opening the exciting box (laugh) . I do not think that I can understand how satisfied I am with this series.

X-Plus is releasing the DefoReal Godzilla 1984 figure, this figure comes in a Ric and standard versions. The Ric features a nuclear reactor in his hands which the standard does not. This figure stands 13cm tall and will retail for 6,480 yen (approx $59 US) for both the standard and Ric. It can be pre-ordered now from X-Plus (Ric) and other retailers (standard), with release scheduled for Oct 2018.

Chara-Ani is releasing more Toho Monster Netsuke Godzilla '95, Destoroyah, and Anime Mechagodzilla (the second Mechagodzilla figure to be revealed), both Godzilla and Destoroyah were originally shown at the Spring Miyazawa Model Exhibition. Each deformed style polyurethane figure is approx 5 to 6cm tall, retails for 10,000 yen each (approx $90 US), and will be released July 2018.

Bandai is releasing the Master Detail Movie Monster Mechagodzilla (Anime) figure, giving us the first good look at the Anime version. This figure is more detailed than normal figures in the line (hence the name), it stands 19cm tall and is 45cm in length. It will retail for 4,968 yen (approx $45 US), it can be pre-ordered from the Bandai Premium shop with release scheduled for Nov 2018.

X-Plus is releasing Large Monster Series Space Godzilla & Favorite Sculptors Line 30cm Series Godzilla 1962, Space Godzilla was shown some time ago with a release date of late 2017 but never was released. The Ric Space Godzilla comes with Little Godzilla (as a set), Space Godzilla stands 26cm tall, Little Godzilla is 12cm tall, and it retails for 23,220 yen for the set (21,600 yen for the standard without Little Godzilla). Godzilla 1962, part of the Favorite Sculptors Line, the Ric features a light up gimmick and namplate, it stands 28cm tall, and retails for 21,600 yen for the Ric (standard 19,980 yen). Both can be pre-ordered now with release in July 2018.

Bandai/Tamashii is releasing the S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla Earth 2018 figure (from the Godzilla Anime sequel). Update: This figure is slightly different from the previous version, it stands 17cm tall and comes with a landing craft (5.5cm in size), his filius (son, 2.5cm tall), and a stand for the craft. It will retail for 11,880 yen, can be pre-ordered from the Bandai Web Shop, and will be released in Oct 2018. This figure will be released by Bluefin is the US for $120 and will be released in Nov 2018.

Sega is releasing another Godzilla Anime sequel (Fixed Battle Mobile Proliferation City) related prize figure this time a vinyl figure. The figure is 14cm tall and 23cm in length it will be released late June 2018 in prize machines in Japan.

Marusan continues to celebrate their 95th Anniversary with more releases, they include King Ghidorah Poster Edition, Giant Gorilla (Kong) Silver & White Version, Giant Gorilla and Hedorah 450 Trial Versions, Super Festival Mechagodzillas limited resale; Godzilla '71, Hedorah '71, and Ganimes with mini figures. Ghidorah is a metallic orange, stands 30cm tall, and will be released at Marsan Toy Festival (June 23-24) and retails for 17,280 yen. Giant Gorilla Silver & White stands 28cm tall and retails for 17,280 yen. Giant Gorilla Trial Version is the same figure but in a beige color and retails for 12,960 yen. Hedorah Trial Version (also beige in color) is 30cm tall and retails 12,960 yen. The Mechagodzillas are a resale of the three colors available at Super Festival 77 in which there is a random color (lucky bag), they are 30cm tall and retail for 16,200 yen. Godzilla '71, Hedorah '71, and Ganimes all comes with mini mystery figures as with some previously shown figure (4 each with Godzilla & Hedorah, 2 with Ganimes), each retails for 10,800 yen.
