X-Plus is releasing the Large Monster Series Kanegon 60th Anniversary Version figure. This figure uses the same mold as the 2013 figure but is finished in a metallic gold color, it comes with a Kanegon Cocoon that makes sound when shaken, it stands 22cm tall and the cocoon is 8cm in length, and it retails for 20,350 yen. This massive figure is based on a Monster Factory kit stands 34cm tall, and is 62cm in length, the Ric features light up eyes, and it retails for 92,400 yen for the Ric, 91,300 yen for the standard. Kanegon, known as the “Coin Monster” is one of the most iconic and beloved kaiju in the Ultraman series, Kanegon is a Kaiju transformed by Kaneda Kaneo, a boy who is greedy for money, after he was swallowed by a cocoon that makes the sound of money when shaken.


Kanegon’s head is in the shape of a coin purse, while his body is like a Martian. His eyes pop out to the direction of money, his mouth is a zipper of a wallet, his tail is rugged like Godzilla, his thorns on his head are there to make him look strong, and his body shines like coins. Since Kanegon was a human before the transformation, he speaks the same language (Japanese) as humans.
