The Kickstarter is now live!
River Horse Games has announced that a Kickstarter campaign would start March 12 for their new Pacific Rim: Uprising game Pacific Rim: Extinction. The game features miniature figures of the Jaegers and Kaiju from the film. More info as we get it, check out the basics below as well as some of the figures.

"Pacific Rim: Extinction is played with large, detailed, pre-painted miniatures that represent the epic and towering scale of Jaegers and Kaiju. Each miniature has been modelled by highly experienced, talented artists, with full access to official Pacific Rim assets. This ensures they are completely movie accurate.

The miniatures of Pacific Rim: Extinction stand between 75-100mm tall, and close attention has been paid to bring the truly larger-than-life appeal of these huge machines and monsters straight to your tabletop!

Coming to Kickstarter March 12th 2018 — Pacific Rim: Extinction, the biggest miniatures game you’ll ever play!"

More About the game:
Pacific Rim: Extinction is a scenario driven, tabletop miniatures strategy game of city-wide destruction and chaos of epic proportions. With fantastically detailed and painted 75mm scale miniatures of the iconic Jaegers – mechanical guardians of humanity – and Kaiju – monsters the size of mountains sent from beyond our world – it captures the spectacular conflict of the Pacific Rim universe and places it in the palm of your hands.

Players will be able to jump right into the action as either the PPDC Jaegers or the Kaiju, either in a quick play match of intense combat, or a more constructed battle with both Jaegers and Kaiju using all their skills and abilities to achieve an objective.

The goal of the game is different depending on which side you choose to fight with. As a Kaiju player, you’ll uncover a secret objective at the start of the game. To win, you’ll need to meet this objective, ideally without revealing what it is to the Jaeger player too early. As a Jaeger player, your goal is to fulfil the PPDC’s task: the protection of humanity. You’ll need to defend cities as Kaiju trample them, and take down the immense invaders.

Welcome to the Conn-Pod. From here, Rangers are able to fully control their Jaegers every move. Special Drivesuits are used to interface directly with the Conn-Pod, through which the Rangers use cutting edge digital HUD and physical control technology to pilot the Jaeger. In Pacific Rim: Extinction every Jaeger has a unique Conn-Pod which presents relevant game stats and customization slots. A number of key features are labelled in the image: 1) Jaeger stats, including Speed, Skill, Power, Armor, and Points values. 2) Ranger slots, where the Ranger Cards chosen for this battle are placed. 3) Charge counter, where the current charge of the Jaeger is displayed. 4) Ammo counter, similar to the Charge counter, this displays the current Ammo. 5) Structure points, which show how much damage the Jaeger can take before it’s destroyed. 6) Upgrade slot, where an Upgrade Card is placed. There are many different upgrades that are used to modify and customise a Jaeger.

In Pacific Rim: Extinction, players control either Jaegers or Kaiju on their turn by playing ‘Action Cards’. These represent all-out attacks, cunning tricks, solid defences, secret weapons, and everything else the machines and monsters can do! Each miniature has a set of 6 different Action Cards, with four main features which are labelled in the image: 1) The identification, showing which model the card belongs to. 2) The title of the card, the name of the weapon or ability. 3) The action(s) you can choose to perform that turn. 4) The ‘Damage’, the effect of which varies from card to card. This represents different parts of a Jaeger or Kaiju being hit and damaged.

At Toy Fair Diamond Select Toys revealed some new Pacific Rim: Uprising figures with a possible spoiler in the mix. They revealed new chibi figures and series three of the Jaegers, it is those that contain that spoiler, a hybrid Jaeger. While no names were listed (the two new Jaegers are believed to be November Ajax (blue one), and Valor Omega (red & tan)) two of the new Jaegers look similar to the others but the third has both Jaeger and Kaiju design elements. It looks like series three will be released in June and Diamond states more kaiju are on the way as well. More info as we get it.
