Ray Harryhausens Minaton 2.0 Polyresin Statue
From Star Ace Toys. Ray Harryhausen’s – Cyclops (50cm tall) BUST series

The giant Cyclops is a fearsome monster set to guard the magic lamp that all the adventurers seek. This creature from Ray Harryhausen’s first color feature film was the inspiration for many future filmmakers and the final battle between the Cyclops and the Dragon was one of the most influential scenes in the history of visual effects.

Based on the large-scale filming model used for shooting close-ups, this terrifying beast of a bust has an authentic likeness and is hand painted to bring out the detail. Made of polyresin it stands 50 cm tall from top of the horn and comes on a display base designed to look like the Cyclops’ cave. An informative plaque adorns the base.

X-Plus is releasing the  1/8 Scale Vampirella Jose Gonzalez Edition Glow in the Dark Plastic Model Kit. This kit is the same sculpt as the previous version but molded in a glow in the dark pink coloring, it features a skull nameplate base, it stands 23cm tall and retails for 5,499 yen. It can be pre-ordered now from various hobby shops, comic book shops, etc. with release scheduled for Nov 2023.

X-Plus is releasing the Masterpiece Series Princess of Mars Dejah Thoris Motoichiro Takebe Picture Sogen SF Bunko Edition Statue. This statue is based on the original Edgar Rice Burroughs creation, it is a resin figure that stands 22cm tall, 18cm wide, and 11cm deep, the base (with name plate) has a diameter of 22cm, it comes with a space backboard for display that is 26cm tall and 29cm wide, and a framed print (by Motoichiro Takebe) that is 21cm tall and 16.5cm wide. It is 33,000 yen and can be pre-ordered now from X-Plus with release scheduled for Nov 2023.

A terrifying statue of Kali, the Goddess of Death, stands at rest waiting for any would-be adventurer to try and steal her treasure. She stands with her arms out and palms up and the eyes in her palms looking for any sign that she should attack. One of Ray Harryhausen’s more ambitious stop-motion creations, Kali would move all her arms as she battles the heroes.

Traditionally sculpted by the artisans of the famed creature shop of Kaibutsuya, this detailed Kali statue is made from polyresin and stands 30cm tall. Each piece is hand-painted to look like it is made of ancient stone. She is posed at rest standing on a base with gold treasure and a name plate.

The Deluxe version of this statue includes a polyresin diorama carved stone circle and a green light to enhance the display.

X-Plus is releasing their Space Cyclops figure in two new colors Soleil Cyclops, and Icicle Cyclops, they are also available in two forms, standard form and Flying form. These were displayed and available for pre-order at POPBOX OSAKA, and now they are available on the Ric site for a limited time, April 18th to May 9th. The regular versions are 21cm tall, the Flying form are 9cm tall, all are clear vinyl with glitter in the vinyl, they are 11,000 yen and 6,000 yen respectively. They will ship May 2023.

X-Plus is releasing the Limited Edition Revenge Of The Creature 1/8 Scale Plastic Model Kit, from the sequel to Creature From The Black Lagoon. This kit stands 22cm tall to the head (without base), or 28cm tall with base to top of its hand, it comes with open and closed mouth heads, underwater base and more, and it will retail for 6,270 yen (on the Japanese Ric site, 5,700 yen on the US Ric site). It can be pre-ordered now from X-Plus with release scheduled for August 2023. A general release without the extra head part will also be available.
