Meg: Legacy is a collection of all the Meg novels (7), novellas (3), and a prequel collected in one set or available as individual books. The sets retail for $508.83, and each individual volume retails for $72.69. The individual books will release over time. Check out some of the details below, and follow Steve's Facebook page for all things Meg releated.

MEG: LEGACY is a seven volume Collector’s Edition set of (faux) leather-bound hardbacks with all the extras, available in three amazing colors (Trench Black, Blood-Red & Ocean Blue.), LEGACY will not be sold in stores or on amazon; each volume must be pre-ordered at SteveAlten.com. These are NOT standard hardbacks, they are thick, built-to-last tombs of entertainment, only 5,000 sets of which will be printed. We hope to send Volume One to the printer mid-June, allow 8-10 weeks for delivery. The next Volume will then be made available for pre-order every 3-4 months, (or you can also pay for the entire series all at once).

From Steve Alten
"Why I decided to create MEG LEGACY:..

-- has as much to do with the future of the franchise as the past. When I wrote the first book (MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror) I knew I would eventually write a sequel (The Trench) that focused on the captive pup (Angel). Four years separate the two storylines in order to give the Meg sufficient time to grow before she reached her first stage of estrus (heat) – the urge to mate sending her crashing through the canal doors to escape, where her instincts guide her back to the Mariana Trench.

Years later I would write the first novella (Angel of Death: Survival) which covers the young shark’s battle to survive other creatures stalking her in the half-finished Tanaka Lagoon.

Book three (Primal Waters) adds a teen daughter (Dani Taylor) and young son (David) to the cast – seventeen years separating books 2 & 3. That’s a big span of time. What was Angel doing all those years? Was her presence a threat to another apex predator? That’s where Angel of Death-2: Apex Predator fills in that gap.

Four more years separate PW from MEG: Hell’s Aquarium – leaving room for a third novella. MEG: Nightstalkers picks up right away, then Generations and finally Purgatory (figure mid-2024).

What MEG: LEGACY allows me to do is take this giant shark tale that spans 7 novels, 3 novellas, and a prequel over 4-5 decades and re-edit everything so that instead of uneven roads and detours there is one smooth superhighway where everything flows past to present – including the Hero’s Journey – all leading to the shocking ending. Throughout that epic journey there will be author commentary and new artwork, and special bonus features that deal with the FACTion that all came true (like hydrothermal vents in the Mariana Trench and glowing albino sharks, and lost seas and ancient aquifers existing miles beneath the sea floor, harboring…

While the novels inspired the movies, I see MEG: Legacy as an episodic TV series that takes itself very seriously and (more important) has the time a TV series offers to develop the characters – including the Meg characters – each shark having its own distinct personality."

Godzilla And Godzilla Raids Again Paperback
by Shigeru Kayama (Author), Jeffrey Angles (Translator)
The first English translations of the original novellas about the iconic kaijū Godzilla

Godzilla emerged from the sea to devastate Tokyo in the now-classic 1954 film, produced by Tōhō Studios and directed by Ishirō Honda, creating a global sensation and launching one of the world’s most successful movie and media franchises. Awakened and transformed by nuclear weapons testing, Godzilla serves as a terrifying metaphor for humanity’s shortsighted destructiveness: this was the intent of Shigeru Kayama, the science fiction writer who drafted the 1954 original film and its first sequel and, in 1955, published these novellas.

Although the Godzilla films have been analyzed in detail by cultural historians, film scholars, and generations of fans, Kayama’s two Godzilla novellas—both classics of Japanese young-adult science fiction—have never been available in English. This book finally provides English-speaking fans and critics the original texts with these first-ever English-language translations of Godzilla and Godzilla Raids Again. The novellas reveal valuable insights into Kayama’s vision for the Godzilla story, feature plots that differ from those of the films, and clearly display the author’s strong antinuclear, proenvironmental convictions.

Kayama’s fiction depicts Godzilla as engaging in guerrilla-style warfare against humanity, which has allowed the destruction of the natural world through its irresponsible, immoral perversion of science. As human activity continues to cause mass extinctions and rapid climatic change, Godzilla provides a fable for the Anthropocene, powerfully reminding us that nature will fight back against humanity’s onslaught in unpredictable and devastating ways.

About the Author
Shigeru Kayama (1904–1975) was a science fiction writer and scenarist whose early stories about monsters and mutated sea creatures attracted the attention of Tōhō Studios, who asked him to draft the first two Godzilla films. The film Half Human by Tōhō Studios was also based on one of his stories, and he contributed to the screenplay for the Tōhō film The Mysterians.

Jeffrey Angles is professor of Japanese at Western Michigan University. He is author of Writing the Love of Boys (Minnesota, 2011) and award-winning translator of Orikuchi Shinobu’s The Book of the Dead (Minnesota, 2017) and Hiromi Ito’s The Thorn Puller.

KING KONG of SKULL ISLAND is a large format, illustrated novel that explores the history of the Kongs and the culture on Skull Island.

Welcome to the King Kong of Skull Island project. This is for all those with an irrepressible love of art, King Kong, dinosaurs, ancient civilizations, assorted monsters, real and speculative science plus fiction, action, adventure, and other assorted knick knacks of imagination. With your help, this Kickstarter will delve deeper into the mysteries surrounding King Kong and Skull Island than ever before.

King Kong of Skull Island contains the long awaited expansion of Joe’s original 1992 creation, Skull Island. King Kong of Skull Island will open with The Denham Diaries, which will be followed by a novel in two parts: Part 1: Exodus and Part 2: The Wall, all co-written by Joe DeVito and Brad Strickland. The book will feature lush, full color interior art and an extensive sketchbook section written and lavishly illustrated by DeVito.

Creating the original Skull Island and its ancillary work, The History of Skull Island, brought into play a life-long fascination with everything King Kong. Conceived with the full support of Kong creator Merian C. Cooper’s family, these represented the first true expansions of the King Kong mythos since the creation of Kong himself–not only of King Kong, but of all the Kongs who came before him, as well as the forgotten human civilization that came to occupy Skull Island millennia before.

The new novel, the accompanying Denham Diaries, sketchbook text, drawings and details contained in this new King Kong of Skull Island book cover the entire ground-breaking Skull Island creation and exponentially expands upon it. It goes on to explore the continued saurian evolution and adaptation that took place on the island over the 65 million years following the mass extinction of the dinosaurs. King Kong of Skull Island uncovers the origins of both the mighty Kongs and the Tagatu civilization, while digging deep into the very foundations of Skull Island itself. Woven throughout the entire tapestry of the stories are unusual scientific facts and theories to add verisimilitude. Each book comes with a numbered bookplate exclusive to this edition that is signed by the authors.

In development for 25 years, King Kong of Skull Island features a 95,000 word novel in two parts.

Part 1: EXODUS delves into the hidden history of the Tagatu civilization, the origins of the mighty Kongs and the strange, ancient interactions that enabled their survival in the midst of disastrous events. Facing impossible obstacles, the spectacular exodus of an entire civilization unfolds against a cataclysmic backdrop leading to an unlikely destination: Skull Island. Unless a solution can be found quickly, the unimaginable dangers encountered there threaten to forever wipe them from the face of the earth…

Part 2: THE WALL tells the incredible story of what happened on Skull Island after the arrival there of the first human civilization, their interaction with the prehistoric Kongs, and the war for species survival against the island’s strange saurian denizens. Life there has not stood still, but continued to evolve for tens of millions of years to a point where humans may no longer be dominant. The inevitable, penultimate war for survival between humans, Kongs and super-saurians takes place against the backdrop of the massive undertaking of the building of the iconic Wall: A barrier that will span the millennia to play a major role in the eventual rise and fall of the mythic beast-god of Skull Island, King Kong!

King Kong of Skull Island also contains the 30,000 word Denham Diaries, a retelling of DeVito’s original Skull Island story that reveals the fate of Carl Denham in the wake of King Kong’s death, recounts the epic adventure of how Kong became a King, and determines the fate of the Tagatu people. Along the way many mysteries of Skull Island are uncovered, effectively making the island a character in its own right. The book will also feature an extensive, lavishly illustrated sketchbook section of over 25,000 words by DeVito that digs into the foundations of Skull Island as never before, as well as a lush, full–color Kong/Skull Island art gallery!

Project Legion (Nemesis Saga Book 5)

THE SIGNAL WAS RECEIVED
Ten years after a deep space transmission was broadcast from a futuristic citadel hidden in the Arctic ice, Jon Hudson finds himself in a position beyond comprehension. His days of lazy Sasquatch hunting on behalf of the DHS’s Fusion Center—Paranormal (FC-P) have been a fading memory since the appearance of Nemesis, the goddess of vengeance, reborn through genetic tinkering. Now he longs for those quiet days once more.
THE AEROS HAVE RETURNED
Facing down giant kaiju has become almost commonplace for Hudson and the FC-P, who he regards as his family, but the threat now facing them is global. An alien race known as the Aeros, summoned to Earth ten years ago, have arrived in orbit, hell bent on destroying their ancient enemy, the Ferox, along with all of humanity…in all dimensions of reality.
ALL EARTHS WILL BE DESTROYED
Facing off against an invasion of city-destroying kaiju, a massive mothership and an assault in a parallel world, Hudson must bolster the FC-P’s ranks. Joined by Milos ‘Cowboy’ Vesely, Hudson must journey through alternate dimensions to gather a one-of-a-kind legion of defenders, including a smart-mouthed soldier, a woman who can animate the lifeless, a time traveler, a robot-man, a powerful king and an assassin who can slip between frequencies of reality.

With Project Legion, Jeremy Robinson has created an epic series finale, bringing together characters and plot elements from more than a dozen different novels and series. The result is a crossover novel, ten years in the making, the likes of which have never been seen outside of comic books and movies like Captain America – Civil War. Project Legion is an apocalyptic end to the first story arc of the bestselling kaiju-thriller series: The Nemesis Saga.
Note: Novels whose characters or plot elements are featured in Project Legion include: The Nemesis Saga, Island 731, The Didymus Contingency, Raising the Past, Nazi Hunter: Atlantis, The Last Hunter (The Antarktos Saga), Xom-B (aka: Uprising), the Jack Sigler Thrillers and MirrorWorld. Also mentioned are elements from the following novels: Refuge, Kronos and Beneath. Although reading all these novels is NOT a prerequisite for enjoying Project Legion, they will help flesh out the included characters.
