The “Yuji Sakai Modeling Collection” series is based on Yuji Sakai ’s garage kit brand “Godzilla Dream”, who is famous as a male of Godzilla modeling. Based on his strict supervision, love and commitment is stronger than anyone else, and commercializes his high-quality prototype and paint reproduction.

Q. Yuji Sakai's latest collection “Godzilla (1984) Shinjuku Subcenter Decisive Battle” has finally started to be booked. Please tell us when this prototype was made with the motif of the scene.

Mr. Yuji Sakai (hereinafter, Mr. Sakai): This work was unveiled as a new garage kit at the Wonder Festival in the summer of 2017.
In this movie's climax, the scene where Godzilla confronting Super X isn't moving but closes its mouth and makes it look cool, and I've always wanted to make it three-dimensional.
No.1 suit and No.2 suit exist in 84 Godzilla, there is a difference in the arrangement of the dorsal fin and the head, the No.2 suit is used for Godzilla in this scene.
The 84 Godzilla, the origin of the Heisei VS Series, was reproduced based on precious materials based on treasured valuable materials, including the posterior arrangement and shape of the No. 2 suit as well as posing.
The biggest dorsal fin in the center is actually only 84 Godzilla, and it is not used at all in the later Biogoji suits. I would like you to pay attention to that area.

Q. Sakai-san's 84-year-old Godzilla is only 30cm in length. I heard that the resin kit was very popular, but I was really looking forward to making this Godzilla soft vinyl.

Mr. Sakai: 84 Godzilla has been shaped with 20 cm, bust and Godzilla complete works so far, but I always wanted to make it with a powerful 30 cm size, so I was happy when I was able to announce it at the summer festival in summer 2017 is.
Whenever we present a new work at Wonfes, we always devise the height, angle, lighting, and background of the exhibition so that those who come to see it can understand the concept of the work.
In this 84 Godzilla, I wanted to get a lot of cool pictures from customers, so I placed a photo of Shinjuku at night in the background, but many people took pictures and tweeted coolly. It was popular.
I am very happy to announce that this work can be delivered as a soft vinyl finished product this year, which is the 35th anniversary of the release of the "Godzilla" movie in 1984.

Q. Mr. Sakai selects items for our products that are released each time, recreates the shape, supervises coloring, etc. Please tell us the points that you were particularly particular about this Godzilla.

Mr. Sakai: In producing the coloring sample this time, we reviewed and verified various 84 Godzilla documents at that time and colored them with a focus on newly discovered items.
Speaking of the dorsal fin, the color was a pearl paint that was bluish in the material at the time, so that color was reproduced.

Q. The limited edition is illuminated and the dorsal fin emits light.

Mr. Sakai: Yes, the limited edition shines with the dorsal fin of the same light-emitting part as the other Heisei Godzilla and other suits.
Since the scene in the play that became the motif this time is a night scene, I hope that the light emission specification will convey the atmosphere.

Q. Please tell us about our special effects image cuts and shooting.

Mr. Sakai: Every time I witness the shooting. Taking care of all angles, I photographed with the staff and photographers to convey the charm of this 84 Godzilla to customers.

Q. We are working hard to reproduce Sakai's prototype and coloring as much as possible when commercializing this finished soft vinyl product.
Lastly, please give a message to the customer from Mr. Sakai.

Mr. Sakai: In this scene, 84 godzillas in this pose are my favorite Godzilla that I really wanted to build. And above all, I've always wanted to have a finished soft vinyl product, so I am very happy to deliver it to you.
I would be happy if you could select the regular version or the limited version of the dorsal light emission and add it to the collection.

X-Plus (and Star Ace) made a big splash at NYCC with a number of reveals and an awesome display. Some big reveals (pun intended) were Gigantic Mechagodzilla 1974, DefoReal Rodan (painted), a Skull Crawler to go with Kong Version 2, and the Yuji Sakai Godzilla Final War RMC Poster Version resin statue. Gigantic Mechagodzilla has not been seen in over a year, it was an unpainted prototype but appears to be at least closer to release. The DefoReal Rodans (two, possibly Ric and standard) were not only revealed for the first time but was painted as well (pic from Eric Stolp). We are also getting a Skull Crawler to go with Kong it wraps around he like in the film. Then there was the beautiful Yuji Sakai Godzilla Final Wars statue, which is based on a kit, is incredibly detailed including a base. And we have a paint Allosaurus from One Million Years B.C. and looks like it comes with a caveman with spear (pic from Eric Stolp). Also on display was a number of other figures previously shown. Pics here are via our friends at Power-punch.net.
