Work introduction The new animated film "GAMERA -Rebirth-," based on the giant monster "Gamera," released worldwide on Netflix in 2023 and a newly edited version aired on NHK General TV in April 2025, is now available in a Blu-ray box set! Directed by Hiroyuki Seshita, who also directed "Lupin the Third vs. Cat's Eye" and "GODZILLA" and handled CG character direction for "Sparrow's Door Lock," the film features a screenplay by Kenta Ihara, who worked on "The Saga of Tanya the Evil." The film features a team of super-creators from the film industry, including Miki Takahama, who has worked on every Gamera film since the Heisei era, and ENGI's cutting-edge 3D animation technology. In the summer of 1989, a giant turtle monster appeared in Tokyo. Its name was Gamera. Its appearance was witnessed by four children. Despite his injuries, Gamera battled the monster, which attacked one after another and preyed on humans, all to protect the children. This long-awaited Blu-ray BOX release marks the release of a new installment of the "Gamera" series, a monster beloved by monster fans worldwide through the Showa and Heisei eras. Boko, a gentle character who cannot leave others alone, but who is often the most unreliable and worries those around him, will be played by Tomoko Nakamura, who starred in "I Want to Be the Power Behind the Scenes!" The cast will feature Kanemoto Hisako, who played Epsilon in "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, who played Hashibira Inosuke in "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," as Joe, a caring, big brother type who is good at fighting and respected by those around him. He has been friends with Boko since the first grade of elementary school. Toyosaki Aki, who played Inuyama Aoi in "Yuru Camp△," will play Jun'ichi, an otaku who loves science fiction, military, and the occult and buys every issue of "Monthly MU" without fail. He stands out in his class but doesn't mind at all. Kimura Subaru, who plays Goda Takeshi in "Doraemon," will play Brody, who has mixed roots with a father who is the commander of the US military in Japan and a Japanese mother. He is the ace of the American football club at his international school but has recently been behaving like a delinquent! Additionally, a stellar cast of voice actors, including Miyano Mamoru (who played Dazai Osamu in "Bungo Stray Dogs") as Tazaki, a third-generation Japanese-American and agent of the Eustace Foundation, and Hayami Saori (who played Visha in "Saga of Tanya the Evil") as Emiko, Tazaki's assistant and agent of the Eustace Foundation, deliver captivating performances. Story Summary The last summer. Friends. And monsters... In the summer of 1989, sixth-graders Boko, Joe, and Junichi were on their last summer vacation as elementary school students. Each of them felt vague anxiety about their future. Then, Brody, the son of the commander of the U.S. military in Japan, appeared before the three. Brody stole the cash the three had saved up. Enraged, Boko and his friends devised a plan to get the money back. Just as they are about to put their plan into action, a crisis strikes the town. The monster Gyaos suddenly attacks Tokyo. The four stand frozen in the town that has been turned into ruins by Gyaos. Just as Gyaos sets its sights on them, a giant monster appears. Its name is Gamera.
