Two announcements tie into each other, the release of 4K Blu-rays of the Heisei Gamera trilogy, as well as the showing of 1995's Gamera: Guardian Of The Universe in a limited cinema release.
The Heisei trilogy features each film in a two disc set including the 4K HDR and standard Blu-ray versions, these sets feature a 20 page booklet, the 4K are mastered from the original 35mm negatives while the standard Blu-rays are the same as the ones released in the 2016 box set, they will each feature commentary from many involved in each film, and more. Release date for these sets is Jan 29, 2021, and they will retail for 7,800 yen (depending on retailer). The limited theater showing of Gamera: Guardian Of The Universe will happen on Nov. 27, 2020, the 55th Anniversary of the release of the first Gamera film in 1965, it will be shown at 7 different cinemas around Japan in 4K (Marunouchi Piccadilly, T Joy Yokohama, Umeda Burg 7, MOVIX Kyoto, Midland Square Cinema, T Joy Hakata, and MOVIX Saitama).
