Kaiju Gods By Alex Maday
The ultimate kaiju collection is here. 14 original kaiju stories, over 40 creators, and all in one awesome pulp trade.
When it comes to fiction, there are very few visuals as striking as kaiju. From the weight of their presence to the excitement of learning about new monsters, it is fascinating to see impossible abilities defying our wildest dreams. Kaiju have been the center of wonder for people all around the world since the early 1950’s when the name was coined.
Let’s go back even further: mythologies and lore of early civilizations have tales of sea monsters, giants, beasts, and dragons. There is something appealing about giant, strange creatures that has worked in storytelling through the ages and continues today.

Kaiju Gods cover also available as print reward by Patrick Blaine
The idea that these giant creatures have always been part of fiction in one fashion or another got me thinking: what if I contacted some of the most creative people I knew and tried to get a collection of stories together that could spark a brand new love of kaiju? At the time, I dont think I realized what I was starting. Almost every person I asked gave me the same response, "I’ve actually had this really cool kaiju story I’ve wanted to do for a while."
The passion for kaiju was already there.

You simply can't do a kaiju project without an awesome cover. When I approached Patrick Blaine about the project and doing the cover we knew we had to pay homage to the great Noriyoshi Ohrai. He has been the legendary artist behind some of the greatest kaiju film posters ever made. Patrick was able to take some of our original kaiju and give them the same explosive presence Ohrai has always seemed to capture with Godzilla.
This project was meant to bring the indie comic community together to collaborate on something fun. Not only is it a chance for creators to work with people they haven't before, but also bring in new readers and see new ways of storytelling.
Each story in this anthology seems like it’s in another universe. From horror or comedy to science fiction and fantasy, there is something different each story brings to the book.
This kickstarter is to fund a large print run to be shared and distributed throughout all the creators involved. It will also cover the shipping costs and fulfilment of all backer rewards. Thank you for taking the time to check out our project and for backing Kaiju Gods.
