The Giant of Light Teams with Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, and Captain Marvel in Battle Against the Main Villain of This Summer’s Fantastic Four Movie

This week celebrated Japanese superhero Ultraman and his fan favorite Ultra Brother Ultraman Taro are teaming up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers to battle one of the most powerful antagonists in the Marvel Universe—Galactus! The spectacle takes place in Ultraman X Avengers #4, releasing on Wednesday, February 26 from Marvel Comics.

The final issue of the Ultraman X Avengers miniseries from Marvel in collaboration with Tsuburaya Productions, and based on the renowned evergreen Ultraman franchise, the comic is cowritten by Kyle Higgins and Mat Groom with artwork by Francesco Manna. This is the fourth miniseries to come out of the multiyear license between Tsuburaya and Marvel, following The Rise of Ultraman, The Trials of Ultraman, and The Mystery of Ultraseven, each of which has been rereleased as a trade paperback available at comic book retail stores as well as digitally through Marvel Unlimited.

In issue #4 of Ultraman X Avengers, the Avengers and the Ultra Guard take to the stars in pursuit of Galactus. Even with Ultraman and Ultraman Taro as their frontline defense can they stop the Devourer of Worlds before he reaches his fateful destination—homeworld of the Ultras, the Land of Light? And which hero arrives with a surprise assist…in a giant transformable robot? Storyline features an all-star team of Avengers including Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Iron Man, Captain America, The Wasp, and Captain Marvel, along with nefarious Ultraman villain, Alien Zarab.

Ultraman is a legendary giant from a faraway galaxy, who comes to Earth to protect us from giant monsters called Kaiju. He is aided by Japan’s Defense Teams, whose main purpose is to defend the Earth from monsters and aliens. For almost 60 years, Ultraman and his people, the Ultras, have been friends and guardians to humankind.

The Ultraman Universe first debuted in 1966 with the launch of the television series Ultra Q. Over the last 58+ years, the Ultraman franchise has spawned a record number of television series, films, video games, and more.
