Universal Cool Japan 2019 has announced the Godzilla Vs. Evangelion The Real 4D, a unique experience for fans. The event feature a 3D theater show but adds other elements like wind and rain, yes you will get wet. Each show is approx 20 minutes long and takes place each afternoon at the Cinema 4-D Theater. The first day will be a lottery via Twitter (retweet target tweets, starting April 10th and ending May 12th for the lottery) for five sets of ten people, other shows will be part of the admission price to Universal Cool Japan. The actual shows are from May 31st to August 25th. (Two pics below are from previous 3D shows.)

In "Evangelion", we have been working on Universal Cool Japan three times so far, and this time, it is a collaboration with the strongest character "Godzilla" that Japan is finally proud of! 
The sound of "Godzilla vs. Evangelion" is exciting. The sound of this sound is Kimo of this project, but it was the otaku joke that was "interesting" Godzilla vs. XXXX "as it was when we were students several decades ago. I really look forward to it becoming an attraction.

A new VR experience is coming to the VR Zone in Osaka and Shinjuku in Japan, Godzilla VR. This cool VR (virtual reality) puts you right in the film Shin Godzilla as you fight the monster Osaka opens this fall with Shinjuku opening November. Check out the video and pics below.

A number of film announcements happened yesterday getting fans excited for the future, while not all were kaiju related they were coll none the less. First was the announcement (at Anime Expo) of the premiere of Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle on Netflix on July 18, less than two weeks away. The second announcement, also involving Netflix, was of a new Ultraman Anime (based on the Ultraman Manga comic) will debut in 2019, promo poster and promo and announcement videos below. Production for Ultraman is handled by Production IG and Sola Digital Arts. Also announced, while not kaiju related but big, is that Legendary will be making a Mobile Suit Gundam live action film, one of the most influential giant robot sagas of all time. It will be produced with Sunrise Inc. Poster and announcement video at bottom.

The first ever large-scale Godzilla exhibition outside Japan, Godzilla Special Exhibition in Taiwan, takes place June 30th to Sept 16th 2018. The event features a history of Godzilla films (Evolution Showcase), Studio Tour (Creators Room), Studio Tour (Special Art Warehouse), Diorama Stage, City Of Rumble, and Godzilla Encounter (pics below are for reference not actual pics). It takes place at No. 1 Warehouse, Songshan Wenchuang Park (No. 133, Guangfu South Road, Xinyi District, Taipei) Taiwan, a pre-sale is going on now up till the start, ticket prices will increase once the exhibition begins (220 to 320 yuan). Toho Cinemas Daily Theater in Tokyo will close for good February 4th 2018 after 85 years. To celebrate it's history Toho is having a "Sayonara Daily Theater Last Show". The last film to be screened their will be Godzilla 1954 (Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla II will be shown the day before, guests include Masahiro Takashima, Director Takao Okawara, and Producer Shogo Toyama). Guest at the final show will be Akira Takarada, and 1,000 lucky people will get a limited Bandai Movie Monster Series Millennium Godzilla Daydream Last Show Version.

Godzilla Generations an event being held from Oct 27 to Nov 19 is an event that will feature the work of three artists, Shinji Nishikawa, Noriyoshi Ohrai, Yuji Kaida, and other artists, it will show all the Godzilla films including a premiere of Godzilla: Monster Planet, as well as have unique merchandise for sale. It takes place at the Tower Records Shibuya Store with admission costing 800 yen and there will be a number of pieces of original art shown. Below are some of the items for sale.

Godzilla was born in 1954 from H-bomb test and Toho has made this simple premise into the biggest movie series of all time. They made use of miniatures and real world special effects to bring it to life. Toho has stay with this approach for 50 years and 28 installments they are releasing the first Godzilla movie in over 12 years, Shin Godzilla on July 29, 2016. 

To celebrate is the exhibition, Godzilla At The Museum: Creative Tracks Of Daikaiju showcasing those miniatures and special effects of the Godzilla movies, design drawings, set drawings, documentary photography, and the like, as well as focusing on the illustrations and three-dimensional modeling that has been created on the basis of the Godzilla movies. It shows the imagination, creativity, power of expression, and will introduce the boundless charm of subject that Godzilla.

In addition there will be a screening of Shin Godzilla and even an awesome event Godzilla Vs Orchestra, featuring a live orchestra playing Akira Ifukube's music while the original Godzilla film is shown.

The event runs from July 15, 2016 - August 31, 2016, at the Fukuoka Art Museum with the Godzilla Vs Orchestra event taking place at Fukuoka Symphony Hall on June 15.

The Jinbocho Theatre in Tokyo will be having the Shin Godzilla Movie Total March a movie marathon showing all 28 Godzilla movies as well as the American Godzilla film (2014). It will start on May 7, 2016 and run through June 17, 2016. There is no reserves for seating, it is unclear if the movie are running back to back or not. The movies are split up to a certain number each week during the showings (schedule listed below). Admission prices are 1200 yen (800 yen for children).
