Bandai revealed their S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla: King Of The Monsters figures at Tokyo Comic Con. This was a bit of a surprise to us cause we got no other full reveals at the stage presentation with Michael Dougherty, just another teaser trailer and production stills. The four figures give us a good look at the monsters for the first time. Godzilla is updated over the 2014 version, slightly different back fins and feet among other minor changes. Ghidorah looks very similar to past incarnations, a little thinner, more lean with many minor differences. Rodan, which we got the best view of in the first trailer, looks as expected, although it was hard to truly make out most details because of his darker coloring. Mothra is the one they changed the most, while it's wings have a familiar look and coloring, the body is much more insect like with long legs that remind us of Muto legs. Some details are hard to make out because these are articulated figures, with joints affecting the look. No release dates were announced yet but these should be released next year (there is a date of 1/19/2019 on the Tamashii King Of The Monsters page, pre-order date?). More info as we get it.

Two variants of the S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla 2014 are coming, well maybe since there is no conformation on these yet. The two variants are an version that features blue back spikes, atomic breath, and a Muto head. The second, which is the one in question, is the poster version featuring a color scheme from the movie poster where he appears lighter in color. No word on release date or price but probably early 2015 and just under $100. Check them both out below.

Godzilla is making a big comeback in Hollywood this year, which also marks 60 years since his creation! S.H.Monster Arts Godzilla (2014) is expertly sculpted and brought to life by the popular Yuji Sakai (Godzilla Complete Works). In all his magnificent detail, the Godzilla (2014) figure is a worthy commemoration for the 60th Anniversary. The realistic silhouette from head to tail is not only represented in stunning accuracy, but is articulated for epic posing possibilities. Godzilla’s jaw is also jointed, allowing for enactment of a ferocious roar, sure to knock down any city! Fans and collectors can purchase this figure from Entertainment Earth. |
